Other than 6er, where do you guys stand on lemans vs super snake vs no stripes and what about super 44's vs original 40's with a stock h pipe.

My vote would be no stripes... I'm not a fan of stripes on our cars :dunno as far as the mufflers go, I have original 40s with an o/r H and it's still not quite loud enough for me so I'm going magnapacks... The Original 40s do sound good but another thing that bothers me is everyone with a mustang around here has them.

With a stock midpipe I'd go resonators of some sort for more noise lol just my 2 cents

I think I may wait until I can get the bassani cat back system. It's kind of expensive, but I'm going to have this car for a while I hope and I want to do it the best I can.

The bassani sounds great and is stainless steel, which is good if you plan on keeping the car for awhile, but it is ridiculously expensive. Are you gonna go with a different midpipe down the road? IMO stock quiets it down too much... But then again I don't have to deal with emissions here so it's whatever works for you!

I'd love to get an off road pipe. Which would be better with the bassani, X or H?

I like H pipes with chambered mufflers and X pipes for resonators but that's just me! Listen to some similar setups on YouTube to get an idea of exactly what you want cuz exhaust sound is very subjective.

Post vids when you get it though! I wanna hear it :)

My thoughts:

-Ditch the stripes completely, will look muuuch cleaner without

-Offroad X pipe with magnaflow magnapack catback sounds unreal. Borla Stingers sound great too, and the whole catback system fits very well. The tips are fantastic as well with rolled tips and fixed hangers

Whic are the best cat backs for the price, American Thunder, Stinger Type-S, or Bassani?
For the money I'd have to say SSS terminators (like the borlas but much cheaper)

But out of the ones you said, the American thunder system is cheapest but the other 2 are stainless steel and the American thunder is aluminized steel IIRC. Borlas are resonators and the bassani is a chambered muffler.

What it all boils down to is what sounds best to you, because if you don't like it then it doesn't matter how must money you saved:)

Sorry if I missed this. But are you on your parents' insurance plan? I'm 20 and they are allowing me to stay on their plan until after I graduate. I have full coverage and only pay like $55ish a month.

damn and i thought i got raped when i had my GT...i was paying $210 a month...then again i pay $200 a month on my sixxer lol

@op...a 2v isn't going to blow your mind like you think it will since you're in a s197 v6...a couple bolt ons and well you can pretty much keep up with them. seen this many times. just a thought...but at the same time changing will get you that nice v8 sound...although the interior blows compared to the s197's IMO....and i have leather with the pony package interior
The only way to enjoy a 2v is gears, not that expensive for improvement in accelration. If i had a chance to do it all over again, i would have bought my 4.10 gears the first week ive had the car...only way ive had such close races with higher horsepower cars.

Kinda wish i did the wheel bearings at the same time also, i knew that would bite me in the ass since now they are making noise.

I pay $240 a month for full coverage...but i turn 25 this July, so it should drop.

Basically Blak GT's car is going to sound SEXY after his. Get Magnaflow Magnapacks, Mac Long Tube headers, Lethal Performance O/R x, and then 4.10s with a tuner. You'll sound sexy and it'll be pretty quick thanks to the 'al mighty 4.10s! haha.

According to the UPS website, my Magnaflow system is waiting for me at home! Can't wait to get off work
