My car will be paid off this fall, and I want to buy a fox to build as a mild race car.

Don't know a whole lot about foxes but I was thinking H/C/I and maybe a 100 shot. Would a stock motor hold up to that pretty well? What about the rear end? Would I need a fuel system?

I'm strongly considering this, as I'm not sure I want to make my current mustang a race car... and I've always loved the sound and look of a 5.0 with some cams and some skinnies/slicks...

Point me in the right direction here. What kind of power will I be looking at with H/C/I? What would I be running at the track?

Can't say about the track but with a good hci you should be able to hit 350rwhp easily. And with all of that you will need to upgrade the fuel system and get a dyno tune.

I don't know a ton about drag as I'm still getting into it but with those mods, some gears and slicks I wouldn't be surprised to see 11's? Don't take my word on th time though.

Hmm... that's more than I expected. Maybe I'll leave the nitrous out, I wouldn't think a stock motor would hold much more than that. What's a decent fuel system run for a fox? How much am I looking at for all of it? I'll probably get some moser 31spline axles as well as some 3.73's. If I can pick up the car for say... $2,000-$2,500, ~$500 for some cams, ~$800 for heads, ~$600 for intake. fuel system ????, and ~$500 for a dyno tune. So I could probably get it done for under $6,000 maybe a little over? Or am I wayyy off?

Woooow easy killer 600 for cam maybe 400 for a blllet custom cam I paid 100 for mine
Intake 350
Heads new 110
Used 700
Fuel system 200 fuelpump 255lph
150 injectors
200 maf

If you get most of your parts used it shouldnt cost that much. As for a fuel upgrade, if you just do an hci, then 24-30 lb injectors should be fine and can be bought for around $80 bucks on ebay. Then a new walbro 255 lph fuel pump runs $100-$125.

An explorer gt40 intake $150-$300. Trick flow 170 cylinder heads used $800, custom cam $350-$400
Used 3:73 gears $80. Used throttle body $100-$150, upgraded maff $150-$200
