Yeah i know they are the same thing but hes acting like they arent good motors... Lol like i stated before the 99-00 gts run harder then the romeos I think most of it is gearing from the trans as the tr3650 has longer gear ratio then the t45. But my bros 00 gt and my friends 00 gt always beat down on the romeos.
The tr3650 is better then the t45 imo. The windsors will beat the npi romeo's yes, but pi romeo and pi windsor should be a complete drivers race. Although the windsor would be ideal to build if you were building a 2v. 8 bolt crank is much better then a 6 bolt.

From what i know, the reason why for put windsors into the mustangs for a brief amount of years is because the romeo production plant had a fire and they had the windsor plant who made all the truck engines produce the mustang ones. Every 4.6 in a truck you see, will all have 13 bolt valve covers, 8 bolt cranks and pressed on cam gears. Reason for that? It was more durable for towing but the 8 bolt crank would still work in a romeo, and the 13 bolt heads would still bolt onto a romeo block.

If im wrong correct me though. :)

What would be an "ideal" set up on the 98 mark viii. I know forged pistons and rods. Is there any heads that bolt up that are better. I'm Planning on running a cobra intake. Any obvious things I'm missing.

B heads are good for boost, C heads are good to be work better n/a. From what i believe that is, ask 1989GT, he has more experience on 4v's.

Well the D-bag that I was going to buy the 4v from sold it Monday. He told me not to call till Tuesday cause he was going out of town. So now I have my heart set on a 4v and I'm looking for a motor again. I'm scared to buy a motor without hearing it run. Anyone know where to buy a reliable used motor near Chicago

this will depend on your budget, how much work your willing to do, and you long-term goals. i did a very basic swap so i kept the majority of the Mark VIII stuff. i just added headers, IMRC delete, and a 1996 cobra intake manifold. i believe my end-product will be FI, so keeping the B heads wont hurt really anything. if i were wanting a completely NA set-up, ideally the C heads would be the thing to swap to as they are really the best all-around heads.
i've got a feeling though that at 400rwhp, i will get bored and want more so my only regret would be not getting ahold of some forged rods/pistons and doing them while i had the motor out.
