Having some problems with my engine when I accelerate.. When I step on the gas to accelerate it sounds like its bogging?? Like a thumping sound when I try n speed up.. If I just drive normally there is no noise.. I had problems before with the air fuel ratio cuz I need a tune, the gauge would read lean while it would make that sound but not when I would accelerate and it would just last a few seconds.. Any ideas dudes? Oh ya and its a 1996 GT with a swapped 03 GT engine..

Possibly running fat...? Have someone ride behind you and see if you blow them dead with pure gasoline fumes while driving.

So... get a tune? I kinda don't get it, bro. If you're in need of a tune and the car isn't running properly, then get it tuned.

If the problem has just started out of nowhere - then start simple and eliminate possibilities. Clean MAF, check vac leaks, check COP boots/COPs/spark plugs.

+1

Idk what you have done (besides 03 swapped) that would require a tune? like cams/heads or FI? But if I had to guess, its a fuel issue. Clogged filter/kinked fuel hose/split fuel hose etc....
