Go with 1.625" headers with 2.5" collectors. Pacesetters are pretty much junk. The Flowtechs are the design as Hookers. Mac are suppose to fit decent but their ceramic coating awful. I had BBK and their ceramic coating is nice but they have some dimpled tubes for clearance which I'm not crazy about. I am getting ready to order a set American Racing Headers for new engine. They are suppose to be really nice and better figment than Kooks. You may want to check out Steeda. They use to have a nice set of stainless headers for a decent price.

Steeda LT's are almost non existent now arnt they?
Correct. Only reason I know is I scored a set of unused Steeda Stainless longtubes off craigslist for a steal and resold here on MM as I didn't feel like redoing my entire exhaust system for minimal gains since I am NA.

i had bbk lt and they fit nice but im glad im turbo now and dont have to deal with them they were a pain to put in and would have been a pain to take out if it wasnt for the fact i was replacing the kmember anyways. If i was staying NA i wouldnt bother with LT.

If your dad is footing the bill, then ask for the Kooks! I love mine, they fit perfect and have excellent clearance too. I got the steeped which go from 1 5/8" then step up to 1 3/4" into a 3" collector. They are quality headers, like I said, if your dad is buying them, why not?

Great info guys looks like I could get the used kooks tha are floating around the Phoenix area I've seen them in person and they look great comes with a catted x pipe they are 1 5/8 and 2.5" collector with the ball and socket style not slip fit. Some store was pushing pacesetters on me for the combo with off road x for only 385$ that's not a bad price but if they are junk and I'm going I have leaks and issues I rather tap into some savings money and get Mac or bbk or spring for the used kooks he wants 750$ for that setup but man they look nice have no fitment issues and I bet would sound mean with a magnaflow Catback. Bbk also looks pretty nice and yeah 2 tubes are crimped a tiny bit to fit the steering rack or something but it doesn't look like it would effect performace. My limit is 500-600$ then I'd have to kick in my own cash. Got a buddy doing the install for half the goin rate and he is going to tune is on his shop Dyno for a great price so were all set up what u guys think go with new products or used top end stuff?

Anyone else got a set for sale or something??

I would have your father pay for exactly what you would be willing to buy yourself. I would not ask for Kooks. I have flowtechs and love them. If you prefer mac or something go for it. Since you are NA the gains will not be huge, but the sound will be well worth it. I see no reason to spend a ton of cash, but that's just me.

Bbk sucks. Dont even bother with them. Bbk in general blows ass. Fitment, quality is awful. They cant even make decent throttle bodys, my x pipe leaks, I can't even imagine a set of their headers.

I definitley say kooks. They sound Soooo good. And like that guy said, fitment is good.

Flowtech is also another decent brand.

The kooks ones are used but are super clean and cost 750$. New that setup is double that price ur they are sweet. Mac and bbk are around 400-500$ for the combo used

Kooks $750 used is better then free BBKs lol.

I've been running BBK long-tubes and catted x-pipe for almost 80,000 miles without any leaks. The shop had to loosen the passenger side to put in the Centerforce DF clutch. After everything was back together there were no leaks.

I've been running a BBK throttle body and plenum even longer and have had absolutely no problems after tweaking the butterfly valve a little to prevent vacuum lock.

If I were you I'd spend the money elsewhere. I have become convinced that most of the any power gain comes from the off-road or high flow cats that go along with the long-tubes. On an n/a motor that combo usually gives you 5-7 rwhp. Some people have reported seeing no gains at all on the dyno. You already have an off-road mid-pipe. I doubt that you would gain anything by putting on long-tubes. You would be spending a lot of money for nothing.

I've never had any problems with BBK stuff. The catted x-pipe I bought when I first got the car went on in 10 minutes and was hands down the easiest aftermarket part I've ever installed. I'm not crazy about the design of their headers and they don't work out of the box with an automatic but I have had zero issues with leaks or wear in the 6 years and almost 40,000 miles they've been on my car. I've heard just as many horror stories about Kooks headers not fitting right at almost 3 times the cost.
