Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I am in the pickle of either modding my current 01 GT or getting a new 2013 GT. While weighing the pros and cons, the new car seems more ideal even if I don't have a guaranteed of high paying job after this contract I have in Afghanistan. In turn, I plan to put down approximately 15k with the MSRP being no higher than 35k

I want the vehicle as a nice comfort DD with the fun for a road race track. NO DRAG WHATSOEVER!

I definitley want the Recaro seating and I am trying to see if I want the track package. If I do go with the package, that puts the base GT to 35k. I have never seen a GT with no leather interior. Does anyone not have leather in theirs GT? I really like leather interiors and I don't want to look funny with a GT and no leather. What do you guys think?

Ok, im in afghan right now and know you can afford a GT as a contractor ;) I doubt you are going to be able to get a premium gt for under 35k though. I honestly wouldnt get a premium because i dont need a loud sound system when i have a loud exhaust, and i dont need an LCD screen because i already have like 3 devices for gps..... most all of the gt's for 2013 at the dealerships are NON leather, but go with the recaro seats in a base model. You dont really need the track pack either unless you are actually going to track it.

Im getting back from afghan in about 2 months and am getting the base 5.0 with the 3.55 diff and brembo package.

Hey there...either Marine or Sailor judging by the Fallbrook (just EAS'd). And though I am a contractor, this one is shitty pay which will be used for paying other stuff off.

Now, just doing an online estimate build, The GT Premium with Recaro is at 35k. Of course I can talk it down no problem. I agree, I don't care about the sound system because a good exhaust will be in place but the luxury on it does sound convincing. And yes, although I won't be trackign it every weekend, I do plan for it once a month.

Imo, I'd get the premium if I were you. I have the base 2011, and I really wish I had sync and leather. I don't need them, but damn I wish I had them. Just my 2cents

I popped for the premium because I wanted SYNC and Sirius, as well as the upgraded gauges. My only regret about the package is the leather. It's just not comfortable when the weather is 100*. That's like all summer here.

And if you want the TrakPac, get it. The Brembos are really good, and I've added everything to mine (except the Torsen diff) to make it like one. I just wish the Racaro's were an option for '12.

I must admit, the brembos are not a full package. Where are the stainless steel braided lines? No replacement of rear calipers? I really love leather but I am going to get the basic with recaros and use the extra cash for mods.

Only thing I was liking from the track app is the lateral g meter. Any of the other gauges seem useless to me and I don't even see it being wide band. I am not going FI. I guess it would be cool to others but the shaker system is a pain in the ass to replace. Think about the Mach Audio on our New edges.

Basic GT with cloth Recaro and extra cash for mods. I think it wins.

While I respect your opinions I completely disagree. I went with the premium vert navi etcetc.. my first mod is a blower which should be ordered next week. Couldn't get the track pack but its cool just a minor set back.. this is my DD so I would appreciate it being fast and comfortable..I love leather in the car but can't stand it at home..

Also the premium can also be added to the resale value as well. Definitely get the recaros as they are 3grand to buy individually..

I recommend the premium. you get leather, the track apps gauges, sync, shaker 500, etc.
