Call me stupid, call me indecisive, call me Maurice, it doesn't bother me. SO, I recently(in january) upgraded from an 03 Gt 5 speed to an 06 Gt auto... A good deal seduced me. An 06 with 38k miles for 16000 for my 03 with a little over 100k miles. But I miss that old body style, and most of all, I miss shifting.Well I have been looking at mach one's and 01 cobras drooling.. good idea or just suck it up and enjoy something not every 19 year old can have?

The only thing about the mach is I know I would want to put a blower on it one day. Wouldn't I be limited to a centrifugal since the shaker is kinda occupying the top on the manifold..?
No. There's eaton swapped machs that still have the shaker

Sell that 3v for a Mach! You can get a Positive Displacement blower and still keep the Shaker. I'm hoping to trade my GT for a Mach next winter. Horrible time to do it but I don't care haha.

I don't like 3v's at all. They sound like ass and look gay. Except for a select few... One who is in this thread. But 4v > 3v.

Still have my shaker. but no longer functional.
I would keep your '06 until you have terminator money, or you can buy a Mach or 99-01 Cobra with a built motor allready.
Trust me, you will buy a non-forged mustang, throw a blower at it, then be unhappy to be limited to 9lbs of boost. I am.
You could get a nice Mach or Cobra for $11k we'll say. You get a Blower for around $3.5k we'll say. Thats 14.5K. Then you will want to build the motor. Theres easily $5k. So now we are at $19.5k. This is not counting miscellanious stuff like fluids, gaskets, etc., theres easily $500. So now 20k even.
Thats 20k, assuming you are doing the work yourself. And being 19, working and all that, you may not be able to or have the resources to do the work yourself. If you have labor for all that theres another 5-6k.

For all that cash you could have a nice Terminator, or allready built Mach or Cobra. And none of the headache of building it.
But its really up to you.
Put a stall in that auto you have now and it will be alot less boring. Stall and a tune will wake that trans up and be alot more fun to drive.

That's interesting. I learn something new every day!

4v>3v

But

S197 suspension> new edge suspension
I couldn't agree more, but the mach does have an upgraded suspension. It's not im taking the auto to a track anyway.. :sorry

You have a nice point about getting a termi with all this hypothetical cash. I am nothing but grateful for having what I got, but It's killing me not being able bang those gears I learned on. I miss my old car so much it can't be healthy.. If I can find a trade for a termi for a reasonable amount ill be all over it!

Here's a cheap fix, buy a tuner. It'll firm up your shift points, had one for my 99 v6. I couldn't help but smile when the car shifted on the "race" tune. I ordered one for my Mach, should arrive on Tuesday.

True. When I had one on my crown vic, it was awesome. The shifts actually kinda snapped you in your seat. Isn't there also something called "j-mod" or some kind of modification to the thing in the whats-e-call-it underneath? (Auto knowledge is not my strong subject :p)
