Ok so im trying to decide on a Qd to use for a while, i really want something thats super slick and streak free. Heres what ive used...

CGs LUBER - Love it, very slick, streak free, smells like cotton candy.
Mothers CaliGold- Its decent for OTC, leaves a very slick finish
Megs Clay QD- Not quite as slick as mothers but not bad.

I just bought a 32oz of ONR, im gonna try it this week diluted to QD strength and see if i like it. I would like to try...

OID
Prima Slick
CG Synthetic anti static
Adams QD

Let me know which you guys have used and what you like about them.

ONR works well as a clay lube, but I wasn't a huge fan of it as a QD.
Optimum Opti-Clean is my go-to, I love the smell and it is very slick.

However, Finish Kare 425 may be the best one I have right now, I'd highly recommend adding it to your list to try.

cgs quick synthetic qd its purple sucked.
favorite is v7
mothers is good
don't really care for meg's but its okay
my exact thoughts!!!!

CG v07 is simply awesome
-easy to use, streak free, slick as snot!

CG synthetic...I have a gallon bottle with about 3/4 left going to go in the trash (pay for only shipping if you want it)

mothers showtime is good, but smells amazing!!! just dont use in the sun

HATE the megs quick detailer in the maroon bottle
-but love megs last touch..slick, cleans well, looks good

cg v07 is great i use too!! i hate adams it doenst leave that slick and isnt near as good as cg. my fav is blackfires though. dont know exact name

I have been using FK425 and Opti-clean. I just got a bottle of ultima Waterless wash concentrate yesterday. it makes 5gallons of QD and from the constant raves about it blows away everything else I decided to switch to it. 20bucks for 5gallons is nice.

I still use P40 and I honestly dont see a reason to change as it works AWESOME...

I definitely want to try OID, and FK425 has really good reviews

Ultima waterless...hmm ill look into that.

I'm was looking to try a different QD myself. Usually use Mother's, not great but worked. I was @ Walmart and they had Zymol Detailer, heard good thing about there wax so why not give it a try. This stuff was terrible. Having a black car sometimes I can't dry my car fast enough and get some water spots. This product did not take out one spot. I'll try it out as a clay lube so it won't be a total waste of money, I hope. So ya I'm in need of a good QD myself.

yea the instore stuff of Zymol is not any good. Right now the Zymol Glasure i have is my favorite wax over everything else I have owned. So i just wanted to give the new AutoWash they have in store a try see if they did anything better with it. Was cheap 8bucks for 48oz. I washed my GF car last weekend and i just detailed it week before and had a coat of Glasure on it. Running my raceglaze mit over the paint it felt grabby. It didnt glide at all compared to Duragloss or other quality shampoos. So i will just use it for wheel cleaning shampoo.

Im probably going to buy a gallon of LUBER or try prima. A gallon of LUBER is like 22 bucks which is cheap and its the best clay lube ive ever used.

I have tried every quick detailer mentioned on this thread excluding the cheap OTC Zymol which is turtle wax, and gallons of them not small bottles so I know how well each works. I am with Vader on this Ultima Waterless Wash beats them all I will say Prima Slick adds just a little bit more gloss and helps fight dust accumulation more, but that cost me $60 a gallon. Now I can get 5 1/2 gallons of a safer dust and contamination removing product for $20 all you need is to go to walmart or albertsons and get a few gallons of distilled water each are less than $1. Mix 2.9 oz of concentrate to make 1 gallon of ready to use Waterless wash throw it in a Kwazar Mercury pro and your ready to rock;) alot safer with your clear as well compared to QD's since its a waterless wash, its also a rinseless wash like ONR but it works better than ONR the dilution is 1 oz to 3 gallons of water to make a rinseless wash. Second under Ultima Waterless Wash Concentrate is Prima Slick and Wolfs Chemicals Nano Quick Detailer which are about even but Wolfs is a spraywax that boosts the protection of Bodywrap and Hardbody, can be used every 2 months or so after a wash.

Ultima waterless wash....noted, i just bought 2 more gallons of distilled water today and some 91% IPA (getting ready for hardbody) lol. Im still riding out my pete's beading and water release is pretty sweet still. Ill probably get 1 more mercury pro in a .5L for my QD as the 1L is going to be used for lubin up clay or autoscrub.

Right now as my clay lube im using ONR, its decent but not as slick as CG LUBER, but luber is 20 bucks a gallon, with ONR i can make 16 gallons for 12 dollars lol. I used it on that acura i did yesterday it worked well and it was slick, but the solution was alot like water, it didnt stick to the paint like Luber does, you spray the surface about a tenth as much with luber. With onr i kinda had to spray it more often.

Everytime i think im done buying detailng stuff i find more **** to buy

Now i need....
Ultima WW
Luber
.5 mercury pro

And eventually Nanoskin autoscrub, end of july early august i have a Jag XF to do, that should more than pay for the few more things i need, i need to unload some stuff i dont use in the swaps thread.

You dont need to get Luber man just use ONR at a higher dilution problem solved who cares if you spray more on the body soak the paint with it the wetter the better. I personally think Luber is a huge waste of money its just claying and if your claying your most likely going to follow up with correcting the paint either as a major correction or light clean up, so light marring from claying shouldnt even be an issue to worry about. Remember you dont need alot of products and the lastest ones everytime one is released. I learned the hard way by wasting money on a bunch of **** that wasnt necessary just get the essentials one or maybe two products for each category this way you dont waste thousands on detailing products and tools. Nanoscrub is nice for professional detailers like Phil who benefit from the time saved but for guys like you and me regular clay is all you need but thats my personal opinion of course you can do whatever you want with your money man if thats what makes you happy;)

Just when I think I'm getting a handle on this detailing thing, something else pops up and I realize I don't know ****!!! Going to definitely try the Ultima WW QD solution. I should have known the Zymol was **** being @ Walmart, But I got duped by the name. I'll just stick w/ Walmart for Mother's wheel & tire. Thanks for the help guys I have a learned alot from you, but still so much more to learn. :dunce:

I agree!!!

Ive spent so much on products that semi-work, dont work well, etc...the latest and greatest are only worth it if what you have isnt working or you are running out...then change things up if you want! Ive thrown out a lot of products in the last 7 years...
