You will not be making much horsepower with that. It is not split port which will hamper gains. Also you would need a custom upper intake manifold to bolt it up, a new hood, fuel pump, injectors, probably underdrive pulleys if you don't want to blow up your stock engine, gaskets, and a couple of other things that are escaping me right now.
You will not need a custom manifold. But you need a lot and a lot more stuff. Check my thread on this page or the next in this section and there is links. Its a good cheap upgrade for single ports but you need a lot more than just the sumer charger. With the super charger you only have about 10% of what you need.
Go to the Use full V6 links sticky. I have a M90 swap thread w/ lots of links to the info.
Basically you want to buy an entire supercoupe motor. Its much stronger then mustang single ports. I wouldn't really recommend making one to work on a stock mustang 3.8.
And as for the power comment and split port ****.
**** THAT.
A stock supercoupe motor alone would probably show up a stock split port all day. And have a sick blower whine to it.
But if you have the motor, you might as well do a bit of work on it before it goes in:
Porting/Cam (air flow stuff)
Upgrade your fuel pump and Id put in a bit bigger fuel injectors if I did all that.
Run some long tube headers O/R or high flow cats.
And run a bigger better A2A Intercooler in the bumper and that thing will make tons more power then the stock ratings.
But just an exhaust and IC upgrade alone would be a huge increase.
Id honestly rather do a M90 build then a split port m112 build.
It's the only sc for sale that I can find in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and I was thinking have the thunderbird as a DD and the mustang a fun little weekend car.
or, buy that car for as cheap as possible pull the motor and everything else you need then part the rest of the car. You would make a lot of what you spent back.
