Just wondering if it would be a good idea? Apparently the motor was swapped on my car for a lower mileage one (~55k miles) but I'm not sure if the belt has ever been changed.

What would be some symptoms/sounds that the belt would need to be replaced?

If the belt looks worn out and you want to change it go for it. Its cheap and easy so if you think you have a problem you might as well change it. While the belts off go ahead and check all the pulleys for bad bearings or any obvious problems.

+1

It's easy to change and cheap to buy. Way better to be safe than sorry!

I had to sleep overnite at an o'reillys because my belt broke on a Subaru and that's literally where the car rolled to before the battery died.

Just change the belt for peace of mind.

I do it with my cell phone !

You can change it but I would inspect it first. Check the ribbed side for cracks. If the sides are frayed or there are excessive cracks then change it.

I had to google mine the other day I believ cjponyparts has a series of diagrams....
