In the beginning stages of a D-1SC Upgrade... Was making 353 rwhp / 359 rwtq on a 3.4 Pulley'd P-1SC with a 2 Core Intercooler. Looking to make 450+ with the D-1SC, new 3 Core Race Intercooler, Cobra Tank Assy (Hat, Pumps, Evap Lines, and FPDM), FRPP 60 lb. Injectors, and MAFia! Looking for opinions on what Bypass to upgrade to, and what size RR pulley I should run to put me at or above the 450 mark??? Built motor, so we're covered there.

Also, anyone looking to Upgrade there P-1SC to a D-1SC, just for reference. Procharger quoted me $1,400 + I would have had to pay shipping there and back! And that was just an Impeller Upgrade, it would be more if they found any other issues!... So I found an alternative! Posted my P-1SC Head Unit for sale and got offers at $1,000. A brand new D-1SC Head Unit can be had for $2,450 shipped from Brute Speed. Which means you can get a brand new D-1SC Head Unit, instead of a rebuilt one for $1,450!!! And you can get it in days, instead of waiting for the upgrade, and back and forth shipping! FYI...

But back to Bypass, and Pulley suggestions...

You're getting 8 psi with a 3.4" pulley through the 2-core intercooler. I'm getting 9 psi with a 3.7" pulley through a ProCharger 3-core intercooler. The general rule is that you will gain 1 psi for every 1/10th inch smaller pulley. So a 3.4" pulley through the 3-core intercooler should put you around 11-12 psi. Also a D1SC will generate approximate 4 psi more than a P1SC with the same pulley so a 3.4" pulley on a D1SC should get you around 15-16 psi. I would think that should be good for 450 rwhp. More if you've got cams, heads, etc.

My bad. I failed to mention that I am running a 4R70W! My bad! Which, as a general rule of thumb, is a 5% increase in drivetrain loss over a manual. So we may need to push a litte harder to get the same figures!... Thanks for your input though. I appreciate it!

put a 2.8 pulley like my d1sc..make 20lbs of boost.,make 600rwhp easy

you already got built motor so no reason not to run max boost..just need twin ford gt pumps and a modified FPDM instead of stock cobra pumps if your going to go for 20lbs

yes..piece together..all i needed was 8 rib alt, power steering and crank pulley..cost me like 70 total..and one ribbed idler pulley..did a a/c delete..buy the ford racing 6 rib a/c delete then get the ford f250 or f150 i forget a/c delete ..that has 8 rib then swap the pulley onto the ford racing bracket so it fits..then put the 6 rib on the f150 a/c delete bracket and return it for full price and they wont notice you changed the pulley at advance, they dont know its 8 rib not 6 rib

Ha, that's awesome!... I'm totally taking your advice! As a full pre-assembled kit is like $500!!!...

What Bypass are you running?

Friend of mine makes 505 rwhp on a small pulley on the P1SC (fully built 302 with heads, cams, etc). Had to replace seal once in 3 years but that doesn't seem too bad. I vote for keeping P1SC with a small pulley unless the motor isn't built....seems like you could easily make in the upper 400's with a smaller pulley anyway... he's pushing his pretty hard

Shut the front door!... Well, guess it's too late for that. I already sold my P1, and bought a brand new D1SC Head Unit!... Plus, I do tend to prefer lower duty cycles anyhow. Conservative tunes, on upgraded items. Instead of maxing things out.

Nice!... It was between that, a Vortech Mini Race, or a Procharger Big Red... I hear the Big Red is annoyingly loud though!

i know the mondo rate for more then the mini race i heard the big reds very loud i got some in car video of the mondo on youtube i could post if u want. i just took a walk around video i could post to so u can hear it out side the car let me know are u could meet up with me in applevalley if u wanna hear it in person im going to try to make ricekiller monday

Get the Mondo if you will be pushing 14psi or higher. The mini race will probably be too small. I use a Mini Race on my setup. Heard they work till around 14-15psi. Then it is time to upgrade.
