Hey guys i am looking to lower the beast (the wheel gap with my 18'' DD chrome bullitts just hurt lookin at em)- I have looked around but I need some opinions and a lot of convincing!
Also, I have a 99 GT and compared to other cars, my shocks blow.

I certainly believe in "you get what you pay for" so I don't mind spending a little more if its worth it...
Any suggestions/opinions on what kind of lowering springs and shocks? And With those do i need to buy anything extra for the installation?

i have the eibach prokit on my car and i love it. a lot of people also swear by Steeda's springs and H&R, also. with theses springs, i'm running tokico struts and shocks (non-adjustable, same ones on the '01 Bullitt). as far as extra stuff you might need, it depends on how big of a drop you're going for. my eibachs dropped the car about 1.5", so i also added Caster camber plates and Steeda's bumpsteer kit. at a minimum, i would suggest the CC plates. since you're swapping out springs, you may want to put new spring isolators in, too.

Do you go to the track alot? Are you looking for a set up that will help you out there too?

Thanks guys, I'd like to order the lowering springs/shocks, mach 1 grill delete and lip kit sometime this week.
I have heard good about the eibach, also the steeda springs.

Neckdone, yes I love going to the track, even if i cant hook on my low profiles lol! They have setups that can help in a straight line? Elaborate please!

The Eibach Drag Launch Springs help the launch, as well as drop the car. Also I've always heard good things about the Lakewood Shocks/Struts. They ride really well and help the squat-effect too... G/L w/ whatever you do...

I never seen a lunch kit that lowers the car. Most raise the front end and a softer spring in the rear.

I was actually thinking something more like coilovers. You can run them as low or as high as you want for the street, then when you get to the track you can raise the front and lower the rear to keep the rear wheels to the ground. Quite a bit more expensive but has everything you need. Here is an example of a complete set up, but DO NOT buy it from this web site. Too many unsatisfied people that buy from RPM outlet. (all the way at the bottom of the page)

First of all thank you everyone for the opinions and pics!

Bob your car looks sick and the way it sits is perfect. The 1.5'' drop is what I am looking for, it fits the 18's well.
*Eibach lowering springs pulls by a fender* :award lol

Neckbone, I will do some more research on those coilovers, thanks man.
Oh yea I have seen the horror stories on here from rpmoutlet, thanks for the heads up!

Oh btw... I have tried to search, but do we get discounts from americanmuscle.com?

Discussions on lowering a car always centers on how much lower the car will be. For example, 1.5" lower.

I went out to measure my Mustang. It sits 8" off the driveway if measured just behind the front wheels. The car is used, I assume this is stock. Lowering it 1.5" would put the car 6.5" off the driveway, right?

Sounds reasonable.
