this makes me happy.
lol me too.

VERY reasonable and doable goal! The TVS is getting a lot of talk right now. Seems to be a great TS. I have a Whipple because I found a used one at a really good price. If I bought a new TS, it would likely be the TVS, guys are getting great numbers and low IAT's out of them. I have a buddy who strappped on a TVS and got closer to the mid 600's, that's fun!!!!
All this talk of HP and stuff got me to thinking, and I realized something very strange. When my car just had the Eaton on it and before I did all this "stuff" to it, I was a lot harder on it, constantly in the boost everytime I drove it. And now, thinking about it, I rarely mash on it, what's up with that? I gotta go for a drive man! I think it's becuase it gets up to and past the speed limit so much quicker now and I cannot afford to get a wreckless driving ticket, or maybe I've just gotten old and soft?
The thing thats crazy about the TVS is the bottom end torque is RETARDED lol. I was reading in FastFords and they did a dyno of an 03 cobra with a TVS and all the supporting fuel and bolt on mods and it hit 500ft/lbs of tq at like 21 or 2200 RPMs or something really low like that, it ended up making a peak of high 500s tq and mid 600s hp, very good numbers on like 17-20psi, i cant remember exactly, thats why i love these cobras, they are so safe to make that kinda power. A broad tq curve is what fast is made of man.

Meh, I think the S197 interior is way superior to the new edge interior. But I do like how the new edge is a sleeker, smaller car.
It is superior to the New edge GT interior which i dont like, but i have a mach 1 and just like the 03 cobra it has difference seats, shifter, gauges, makes all the difference, its a preference thing. Mach 1 interior has a modern old school look, its all about driving, the seats hug your sides, the shifter fits perfectly in your hand and instead of having to look over a giant dash you gaze over a giant hood scoop-thats real lol. Im not saying the new interior isnt nice, its just too damn big, feels a little claustrophobic lol. Im probably just not used to it.

i dont need amenities really. But if you are looking for the most comfortable ride with the most bells and whistles, then the s197 is the way to go, but im a driver to the bones, i wanna feel and hear the road, the engine, the exhaust, everything all the time. Someone asked me the other day what kind of music i listen to while i drive, i replied, i just listen to my car most of the time. lol.

Termi ftw!
+100000 lol i cant wait to get one, just dont know what color, im pretty in love with black, ive had 2 mach 1s, both black....either black, red or sonic blue on the termi. Im probably gonna get a economic DD and a bike before the cobra tho, so i can keep the miles off the mach 1.

always wanted a mach 1, you should really just let me take it off of your hands for you if you get a cobra :naughty:

Couldn't agree more! That is exactly why I added a 4lb lower and stepped LT's, in order to get my torque where I wanted it.
Torque is what shoves you back in the seat and makes you smile really big!

i Want your cobra my man haha

I appreciate it man.

Your time will come, trust me, it didn't happen overnight for me either!

I remember the first time I saw one back in 2003, it was a Sonic Blue and I wanted one soooo bad. It just wasn't in the cards for me at that time, new home, young child, you get the idea.

yeah i know what you mean. Ill have both my cars paid off by the time im 23. Then i'll consider either getting a 2013 (or new car if i like the new style) or a cobra. Im highly considering a cobra

The best sounding exhaust I ever heard was a Mac prochamber. So I bought Mac long tubes and a Mac prochamber. I can send you a sound clip once I get the engine installed. Pm me your email if you're interested

Well then my friend, you are waaay ahead of the game. 2 Mustangs, both paid for by the time you are 23, wow!
You see, I am 41, some consider that an old fart, but I'm just getting started. My car history involves 60's muscle cars, working on and owning a few over he years, this is my first modular engine, I like pretty well so far!
Worlds apart from the big cam, pushrod engines that I have a history with. Plus it gets MUCH better gas mileage than the big blocks I'm used to fooling around with.

i understand how lucky i am, looking at kids my age on the streets that dont want to work, or they cant afford it etc.

41? man thats not old at all, youve got alot of time left! haha

I hope so brother, counting on it anyway, I've got 2 young kids, so they keep me young! You are lucky, but I also admire you that you are that young and appear to have a great work ethic, that is getting harder and harder to find with some of the younger crowd today. They want everything handed to them. I bought my first car with money that I earned mowing yards, see, now I do sound old! It was a 68 GTO and I still freaking have it after all these years, because it meant something, that was A LOT of yard mowing!
The Terminators will always be out there for you to buy. I know of several guys who have bought one, modded the heck out of it, then sold it at a loss because they were "done" with it. The really odd thing is that the 03/04's seem to be holding steady in price right now, not sure what's up with that? But, there is always a deal to be had out there.

yeah, ive been working for as long as i remember even if it was off the books.
I work overnights full time to pay for the cars. I find it pathetic how kids now a days dont want to work, then they complain that they dont have what i have. Im not trying to be cocky, but i work hard for what i have and i hate when people give me weird looks when i say i have 2 mustangs. I can already tell at a young age cars are my passion and i would love to collect mustangs and figured starting young is the best bet. you only live once. You worked hard for your cars, im sure you know how that is! Badass GTO by the way!

As far as the terminators, i just keep thinking that everyday i go into work is one day closer until i can own one!

To be honest ive been thinking about keeping the mach after i pay it off and instead of buying a cobra, Supercharging/building the mach 1 to the same power the cobra would make, and it would be lighter and have a SRA already, and just love machs, shaker hood, the gauges, the c pillars, the seats, everything. im a mach guy.

I would rather put miles on a Mach 1, than keep the miles of of it...
Me too but what you dont understand is that i drive 30k miles a year, i bought my mach Nov 9 2011 with 57k miles on it, now it has 84k. See what i mean? I want to drive my mach 1 on my days off, to car shows, down country roads, not 100 miles a day back and forth to work in Atlanta traffic. By keep the miles off it i meant drive it like 10k a year would be good. I sat in traffic for 2.5 hours yesterday in my mach 1 with a spec stg 1 clutch- no fun, hell the stock mach 1 clutch is pretty damn stiff to be honest. Its pretty rare that traffic is that bad but it happens and it sucks.

understand where youre coming from, but im the same way with my 2010 GT. I drive it, but not excessively so i can keep some of the miles off of it
Exactly, its my baby and i plan on having it for a while, even if i dont sell it i dont want to have a mach 1 with 180k miles on it.

lol me too.

Yea man most people dont understand that torque and HP are two numbers but they work together, Horsepower IS the relationship BETWEEN torque and RPM. The way i think of it is torque is the power made from each cylinder's stroke, the piston pushing through the connection rod to turn the crank shaft, Horsepower is the power the cylinders make together as rpm goes up, their combustion stroke frequency gets closer together and thus HP increases. Idk if thats technically or scientifically perfectly accurate, thats just how i picture it in my mind. I know an engines TQ is very dependent upon the stroke length and HP on the bore of the Cylinder.

Anyway, torque is where its at, thats why mustangs are so fun to drive, they have nice torque numbers, that seat of the pants, plant you in the seat growl of a v8, theres just no substitute. Thats why i laugh at people who say their honda can spin 8k rpm...Im like, its not that it CAN spin 8k, its that it HAS to spin that fast to make any kind of power, lol.

MERICA! lol

PS. Im not hating on hondas or any other non american cars, i like anything fast and clean, i just prefer the sound, feel, drive-ability of American Muscle.

Ill drive mustangs for the rest of my life, i tried not having one, hated it, i dont like driving anything else as much. Since then ive had 2 mach 1s, which are the last 2 out of 4 mustangs ive had. Im also 23, still payin on mine tho, lol, along with the Mortgage!

Being young and having cars like this is great, i cant lie. And i agree, ill drive mustangs for the rest of my life also, they're such fun cars to drive. Id love to have a mach 1 also. Something about the "retroness" in the interior is pretty badass.

On a seperate note, i work overnight full time as a baker and make OK money (enough to get me buy with my mod bug disease), but a local dealership is hiring for sales and i think i might apply. They start off at ~50k with full benefits, PTO, Paid vaca, bonuses, comission, but best of all... DISCOUNTS! haha. I may just go for it and see what happens!
Anyways,
I've been finding alot of 07-09 Gt500's for sale in my area lately with only 10k-25k miles on it and theyre selling for mid 30's...

Terminator vs Gt500? Not going to lie, thats a pretty hard choice.
Im thinking the only thing the termi has over the gt500 is that it can be built to a higher hp and tq number than the gt500 for less money?

Hey everybody, looking for a new exhaust system to put on my 2003 GT.
little background info, i have a 2010 GT that i put BBK shorty headers, BBK catted x, and a borla ATAK catback on and it sounds AMAZING. the tone is beyond believable.

anyways, since i live in NY state it has to be emissions friendly, so ill make that clear of the bat.

What im looking for is definitly on the louder side, i want something that will be incredibly loud, but yet preserves tone and doesnt sound like a jakced up garbage truck. I'm looking into LT headers, catted shorty X and a catback, but not sure what brands.

Maybe Kooks or ARH for the headers and x pipes? opinions or different brands?
As far as the cat back... maybe another borla ATAK? roush? not sure. Anyone with some sound clips or opinions here?
Because you are in an emissions area I would recondmend Kooks LT headers and our new "Green" catted X pipe. The "green" cats are EPA certified and 49 state legal.
Part Numbers
Headers 6000S (1 3/4 x 3)
X-Pipe 6016-3-GREEN (3 x 3)

you work for kooks? and thanks for the suggestion by the way, ill look into it.

Quick question, could you tell me if i would pass emissions in NY state if i were to get this setup: 1999-2004 Mustang GT 4.6L Kooks 1-5/8" Headers w/ 2-1/2" Catted X-Pipe

Look up NY states testing criteria, if its visual or sensor, or what.

These "green" cats sound pretty good, as long as they flow ok lol.
