I have never liked seeing a chevy motor in a ford. The most common engine swap is a 350 chev in any thing. I have a 71 chevy truck and I wanted to put a new motor in it. The sb 400 runs good but just has no flash. I thought of a North star. out of a cadi, but everone told me they're junk and have a weird water pump set up, to many problems. Talking to a mustang buddy of mine, he said what about a 4.6 out of a Mark 8, all alu block, double over head cams. 4 valve heads, a cobra motor. and you can get them cheep. It took me a day to find a complete car, running for $500. and a found a t45 5 speed for $400. So I'm all set up to install a FORD in a chevy Has this ever been done before?

All the guys putting Chevy motors in Ford's annoys me too. My dad would be one to do that too. I can't say I've ever seen someone put a Ford motor in a Chevy, but hats off too you for choosing a superior built motor :rockon Keep us updated.

One thing that bothers me about chevy swaps is people thing it's the only way to go. Like in the tuner world (I know guys, don't laugh) the only v8 swaps are 350's (bleh) or LS1's (I have to give respect where it's earned, but they are soooo overplayed). I've always wondered why no one ever pulls a running sbf, and does a mild build and turbo? Surely it would be cheaper and more unique than an LS1, and a load more powerful than a 350?

most people run chevys because parts are alittle cheaper, but cant beat the way a ford sounds. you will need some custom mounts and find away to adapt the belt driven components. Nothing out of the norm with putting a motor that it dont belong in. I would ask around some people putting EFI swaps in old classics ex. 2004 ls engines in 60s chevys, granted they are both chevys but they had to do alot of changing.

wow it doesn't get much gayer than that.
a fake cobra jet/fake gt500 with a chevy motor, a big hole in the hood for the aircleaner & 99 dollar summit knock off wheels. I guess pepboys were all out of 9 foot tall wings or it would have one of those too.
I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw that.
