I wasn't very content withe the Giugiaro concept. I didn't like the doors, or the Italian influence on a piece of American heritage. I though it would be cool though, if it had more of the 69 feel to it. Don't get me wrong, the Giugiaro concept has some good body lines on it, but in my opinion, it looked almost like a 350z with that short ass end. It kind of pissed me off. I love the window louvers, but it needed something more in my mind, it needed something to strike that Classic American Muscle. So I though I'd modify it a little bit in MS Paint. I spent about 15 minutes editing in things I though would give it more of a Mustang identity. I wish the full window roof could be done away with, but my paint skills aren't that great for a 15 minute quicky. ;P Anyway, here it is, strongly influenced by the 69.

My thinking was it would be sweet to have the 40th anniversary of the 69, actually look like a 69. So I hope something similar comes into play in 09. :D If the option of a sweet spoiler like that for the GT or the special edition cars were even a possibility, it would be pretty awesome.

Yeah, I know, but the stripes are the 70 concept...

yeah, i'm not crazy about the rear end on the car. i'd love to see a new Mach 1 for 2009, personally. maybe with a N/A 5.4, at least.

A Mach 1 would rock. I really want the deck lid spoiler flare for the 09, and the little emblem on the side by the louver, or maybe no louvers at all. It would be cool to have the C scoop that the 69 had. A Mach 1 or Boss 302 influenced paint job over all of that, and Ford would have my heart all over again. Any other ideas? Maybe if we the people express enough of an interest as a whole, Ford will hear us. :p

There you all go, a 69 to suite your fancy.

I am not completely satisfied with the Giugiaro either, hence the photo shop. It's got the cues of a classic though, I just wish they would be developed more.
