If you type in "clunking noise" into google before you even finish it comes up with this problem in many vehicles, Iv also considered putting my springs back in but **** that I already spent the money on the "improvment" And will not be beat, but the noise is extremly aggervating and the ride quality is less than ****
I hear you, I feel the same way. I want to stick with it, but it's almost to the point of being unbearable and a little embarrassing. Sounds like the wheels are gonna fall off the wagon. I may try a different spring rate. I'm running a 12" 175lb spring at the moment.

I have strange struts, upr coilovers with 12-250 springs.
Not too much noise. Its annoying, but i got use to it.

A small spacer. Maybe 1/2" one.
I was about to order another set of the spacers from MM because I lost any that I had from the previous owner.

A lot of your problem is the spring you're running. It's too light and too short for a full weight car experiencing DD duties. Go up to at least a 12/250 and a lot of your noise complaints will disappear.

uhm what? It is very hard.. and was getting harder as it was compressing? To the point where withought the wrench its not going to get any further..Ill post some pictures tomorrow or saturday maybe when I take it back apart
It's hard to say without having my hands on the car or seeing pics of the C/O setup as well as the CC plates and the strut mounted to them but it damn sure sounds like you have something in there wrong. With the 12/250s you shouldn't be having bottoming out issues. If you are physically unable to turn the collars any more and it's still at the bottom of travel there is certainly somthing wrong with the installation.

Hey man,

Like everyone else has told you, most brands of coilovers use their own spanner wrench. Your best bet is to order one from the manufacturer. As for your "clanking" noise, the spring retainer on the top of the strut may be causing that issue (might be metal on metal). You might want to take it off completely to make sure everything is all good!

Lol just some things to check! but I don't know much about your brand, I work for a different suspension company :p *cough* go Ridetech! Haha

no no, im a little ways up the sleeve its on at the bottom, i just cant get it to move any further now..imma tear it all apart and do it sat, you really cant go that wrong with the install **** only goes one way and its pretty self explanatory.. AND I 5x checked the instructions

its easy see..

Trust me, I know how easy it is. I've done plenty of them. I'm not the one having problems. If it only goes one way and self explanatory you wouldn't be having problems. Either something is assembled wrong or you and the others with you don't have the strength to turn the collar.

Yeah im sure thats it... :swordfight: Ill figure it out and let yall know what the deal is, im 100% sure it is installed correctly as I have already checked it after the install was done and all IS correct, buuutttt Ill pull it allllllllll back out and tear it alllllll back apart and inspect everything until I find the problem.

As for the clanking...I think your on to something and im sure if its metal on metal there will be some sort of evidance and ill approach that accordingly

Maybe I'll just put her on a diet. I originally bought these with my Team Z k member for my fox. That car was heavily modified, light and street driven. They hardly made any noise at all. I sure do miss that one...

What all did you have done to it? Mine was a beast. It was my first car, a 1987 4 banger. I spent 7 years piecing together parts and had her on the road for about a month. Then I had the bright idea of fixing some rust as a winter project. long story short, the guy that I PAID to do the rust repair RUINED the body. So I parted it out and bought this new edge. That car was sweet. It had every conversion, tubular k, tko 600(in the new edge now), and the power, that was the best part. 510hp N/A 347. AMAZING car.
