That 50 lens is absolutely incredible. Great for low light and portraits. Incredible blur but might be a bit hard to focus at times due to a really shallow depth of field at 1.8.

Why post edit? Many reasons really, on my cell now so I won't list them all but just a tip, always shoot in RAW format. I shoot in both jpg and raw but I have a 32gb memory card so its not an issue for me. Def worth it to get a high capacity pro memory card.

So I went to the rally this weekend with the new camera. I am extremely happy. This thing is absolutely awesome, even with the kit lens. I was supposed to have another lens to use (Nikon 30mm) but he never dropped it off. . .

I took a picture I really liked and was doing some post processing (shot in raw) and need pointers on it.

I would like to turn this into a poster or framed picture tbh.

Looking for direction on this. Thank you!

Any tips on these photos?

Vignette might be a bit strong in that one. I did one without a vignette as well if you guys want to see it.

I like how this one came out. Bronx Zoo. Might look a bit fuzzy because it was shot behind glass.
I'm on my phone so I may not see everything accurately, but I really like the tiger picture. I think both need to be cropped in a bit. The first one is a bit over saturated and the woman's face is a little soft. Also, I don't care for the vignette. Good photos overall.

If I were you and there was another rally coming up, I'd go for a reshoot if this was something that was gonna go on my wall. It's not a bad photo, just not the best you could get.

deaf, I see some of the same things Triple noticed in the early set. If you were trying to do a large print with either it would be tough. For 5x7's you can get by.

Tiger shot is awesome regardless of artifacts that can be seen in the full size.

Your other set is pretty good, the ex-girlfriend shot is a bit underexposed, based on the high iso I'm guessing light was not at a premium - but a little tweak in exposure would be nice.

I love the park sleeper shot - good and gritty.

I'm also anti vignette, I absolutely hate it. It's a personal preference, so take my feelings on that part as personal not critique. I feel a stellar shot needs none of that.

Shook the greens are too high now, the bark on the trees are halo'ing now to green hue.

I'd return it back and select the monster logo alone and bump it there.
Thank you. Will do. Honestly I didn't even see that on the tree's until you said that.

Sadly not for another year will there be a rally. Especially with someone like Ken Block at it.

Here are a couple others I was happy with:

Definitely feel free to critique these. I am shooting in raw and have obviously used lightroom on these pictures. I got my Camera on Friday and these were all taken on Saturday throughout the day with the 18-55mm Nikon kit lens. I'm so happy with this camera. . . It's mind blowing what these things can do and I know I haven't even scratched the surface. Thank you all so far for even getting me this far. I know I still have a lot to learn but I have already come quite a long ways from some of the previous pictures I have.

Totally agree on the softness of her face. The focus must have been a bit off or something. I wasn't sure of the saturation but now that you mention it, I can agree on that as well. Thanks! I'll try and adjust them a bit.

Yeah the ex-gf shot was terrible lighting. I think it was shot at 6pm so the sun was down at that point and I was shooting by hand. The park sleeper shot I added a TON of clarity to give it that gritty look. Also added that vignette in because I thought it would help out a bit with the mood. Without that it looked like it was missing something. I wanted to get the photo with my little brother and me blown up to like 24x18. You think that's doable?
