He said tranny. :lmao The frame should be the same for these years and the 302 should be a direct bolt in, I'd check over to the 5.0 guys to see what they have to say about this because I could be wrong, afterall I've seen people swap out the 3.8 over to the 5.0 in the newedges, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to do the same swap over in the fox bodies. But with confidence, it should just bolt right in with little or no modification and I know the transmissions are the same, IF YOU pull the 302, pull the transmission and complete harness with it. It will take some of the guest work out of it. The transmission of them years was the AODE, if you find a low mileage one, grab that instead. Cause if you use the mercon V in these, sometimes the oil will blow past the seals because it's actually a synthetic blended transmission fluid. Just use the regular dex/merc with this. If it's a manual, just use lucas.
