So I'm new to the forums so I apologize if there are numerous posts on this but heres the deal.

So I got a 2003 Base V6, its been garaged since late october in cold storage. I live in Buffalo ny so its been really cold. I have a '98 park avenue that was my winter car but needs the head gasket replaced, and since I'm not trying to put any more work into it, I decided to take out the mustang because well I need a car to get to work amongst other things. Well I go to start it and the battery was dead so I had to wait, finally its charged and then I go to start it, it cranks but doesn't actually turn over. Now the theft light was blinking but not when I had the key in. I tried swapping out the ignition coil (was going to anyways) but no luck, tried turning ignition on for a minute but not actually cranking it, then trying to crank but no luck. I also tried disconnecting the battery but no luck. I got the car used with one key, no starter issues other than when I had to replace the battery at the end of april last year. Now my dad and the guy whos garage I'm using believe its more than likely the lines being frozen. I definitely think so also (had a quarter of tank) but want to be prepared in case thats not the case. Even tried resetting fuel pump relay but it was already pressed down.

Now I ask you Forumgoers, what may be the problem.

Also it has a pretty bad hesitation that i noticed before I garaged it, like pulling away from stop signs and lights I'd have my foot on the pedal normally but it would hesitate untill I took my foot off the gas for a second or 2 then itd be fine. ALready got new plugs, ignition coil, getting a new MAF and cold air intake. what may be causing this ?

when you turn the car to on is there fuel at the rails? should be a little cap you can take off and then if theres pressure fuel will come out when you press down on the little core inside. that was a terrible explanation but i think youll see what i mean.

Is your fuel pump priming?
Do you have pressure in the fuel rail?
Spark plugs work?
Starter works?

Chill out, its the internet bro!

positive the battery is charged? might want to get a new one... I'm from Buffalo too so I know cold and salt, it's been horrible here..
the battery cable that runs to the starter went on my dads old F 150 twice, you might have lost the connection there..
do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on?

sorry to bump but i think i found the issue, tank was bone dry so i put gas into it when i brought it home. i charged it fully and the theft light is no longer present when turning the key, however I took the little cap off the fuel line i believe and pressed the little plug to see if i got any fuel pressure but no luck

think it may be a pump issue?

I would fill the tank. Keep on turning the key before the starting posistion to prime the pump. Its not good to run the pump dry. Also make sure it has enough pressure. By doing this is to prime the pump. When you turn the key right before the engine crank do you here and hhhhhhhhhhmmm sound? Its pretty faint but you still can hear it. If you do your fuel pump is working if you cant then get ready to fork out some money....But before you do that check your fuel intertia switch then check your fuel pump fuse.

agreed, on turning it a few times to get the lines filled, after that if it still does not start and you have done that back and forth times, check the schrader valve again (thats the point on the fuel rail you press in) if still no pressure listen for the hum, its easier to have someone back there listening if you dont know what your looking for, if nothing is heard its probably fuel pump or fuel pump relay. if/when you swap the pump you need to get another gasket that is almost always dry rotted and breaks apart after you take it out..if it gets to that point ill find the write up i followed that included the part number for it. easier to have everything and do it in one go you know.

so another update

I'll keep it short and sweet

-there is a whining so it deff is priming, just no pressure whatsoever on the schrader valve so may be blockage
-sparks good
- only filled half way with fuel, you think itll be best to fill it?
- its weird cause theft light was on trying to crank it earlier when i tried to jumpstart it, but after i put it on the charger, charged for a couple hours more than last time, the theft light didnt come on while cranking but still didnt turn over.
dad says no fuses appear to be blown.
fuel pump inertia switch is down.
- which fuse would be the one for the inertia switch and pump??

I doubt its the battery because it cranks like it did before I stored it but, it just wont fire. would that cause no pressure to the schrader valve? and also how long do i have to let the pump prime to get fuel to the valve, i only really let the key to on for a few mins max and saw there was no pressure. not sure when the fuel filter was replaced last you think that may be clogged, because i remember storing the car with some gas in it but when i took it out it was bone dry. any help would be appreciated, as i work a decent distance from my house and my mom can only let me use her vehicle till she goes back to work next weds
