About 3 or 4 months ago, i installed Stage 2 Comp Cams in my 2001 Bullitt. Before I did that, i had no problems with stalling. After the extremely long install, I noticed that every now and then, my car would stall while it was idling. It was bearable and it didn't happen too often. About 2-3 weeks ago, we had it down again for a transmission rebuild, clutch swap and put on BBK long tubes. After it was up and running again, while driving it, it would stall every time it was idling when the engine is warm. it has gotten so bad it wont even idle. i will either have the gas appplied, or it stalls. when it first starts up when its cold, it can idle fine, but when it gets warm and up to running temp it will constantly stall. It has become a huge problem and annoyance every time i drive it. I've been researching but cant find any definitive answers. i tried to clean out part of my IAC but it didnt fix the problem. All help is appreciated.

I think an all new IAC may be needed. sometimes cleaning it doesn't cut it. If not maybe reflash the car at the dealer or get a new tune?
One time, my brothers GT kept stalling so he gave it more and more gas. We thought it could be a vacuum leak or PVC valve (which may be another possibility for you) but for him, the oil level was too low and the engine ended up seizing. Also, keep an eye on the temperature gauge, the thermostat may be malfunctioning and if the engine gets too hot, the computer may shut it off.

First, thanks for the quick replies. I was thinking a new IAC was in order. The tune and dyno will be extremely expensive so i think i'll go with the $128 IAC. I am definitely going to need it tuned soon to really polish off the gains from the mods but on a high school budget, won't be easy.

Youd dont need a dyno tune. You just need an email tune, which requires an SCT tuner. your total would be around $550 for an sct and base tune package from Trick Tuners. Then your car will be just fine.

So instead of buying a new one, i took the IAC off of my sister's yellow GT and swapped the two. my car still had the problem and my sisters idled fine like it always has.

I already have an SCT tuner for it. I'll try to get that tune from Trick Tuners and hopefully that will fix it. Thanks everyone.

Dude, it's gonna run like **** until you get it tuned. I don't know why you'd think that anything else is the problem.

i have cams and lt tubes, tons of bolt ons and i deffinatly will be needing to get it tuned soon. i have a mail order tune for the parts, but it still wont idle when warm without dying. so i think in the spring im gonna strap er down to a dyno.

Because you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.
Could not agree more.

OP you NEED a tune. Its not a simple IAC problem. Your car is running and will run like **** UNTIL you get it tuned. Theres no other solution.
