well i listed a couple in the original post, but i was strongly considering the chin spoiler and delete kit, and was iffy about GT500 style stirpes, but im not sure what color would look good.
I would suggest staying away from racing stripes on a New Edge. They seldom look good.

Keep the scheme of your car clean! That's a great color and shouldn't be ruined by excess striping etc..

Haha it was just a thought CBJ.. I'm not a big fan of stripes, I was just throwing that out there if he was

In the end it is your car. Do what YOU like/want.

I hate strips, yellow cars, all v6's, certain wheels, and a lot more

Take a look around the members ride section and decide what YOU like
thanks, and i definitely going to do that. i just thought this would be a fun way to get ideas floating! let me know if you think of any other ideas!

+1 on doing aesthetic mods.

Leave the performance side stock. It is hard to make a V6 fast without doing some serious mods. Heck, for a 99-04, it's hard to make a GT fast too, without forced induction. :naughty:

Anyway, make it look sharp! Then when you get a little bit older, swap the parts off of it to a v8 car and you'll have a great starter build. :thumb:

My vote is Mach 1 chin spoiler, grille delete, lowering springs, deck lid, and some chrome Cobra style wheels. I think chrome looks great on true blue.

I'll bite. Drop in the V6 out of the latest generation mustangs. Looks better under the hood, gets 30+ mpg, weighs less then a v8 swap, and makes more power than a stock 2v 4.6 does.

I would do all the normal stuff like everyone else is saying. Put some bumper inserts in. Paint your calipers. No stripes on your color. They wouldn't look good. I would honestly go with some silver fr500s or silver/chrome saleens on yours when your ready for new wheels. A couple free mods you can do are cut the antenna down and reglue the ball back on, and cut the little "grills" out of the fog light holders.

As for the v8 swap. My insurance went down from it. I am 24 and not 16 so that might have been a reason. There is a lot more to it then just swapping engine and trans. And if your not mechanically inclined I wouldn't attempt it. If that's the case, there are some pretty quick v6s on this site and I would go there route.

Welcome to the forum. You have a very nice looking car. Unfortunately, I agree with your parents. I absolutely refused to let my kids have high performance cars. There is a reason young drivers pay much higher insurance rates and my kids were the norm not the exception. Actually, every parent I know who thought their kids were the exception found out otherwise.

As far as cosmetic changes go, you will find that as a group Mustang owners tend to be a bit conservative. Anything extreme that doesn't relate to performance is considered "ricer." As a group we also tend to frown upon false advertising such as putting Cobra badges on V6.

You already have a hood scoop and I"m assuming the standard 2002 rear wing. From the picture it looks like you may already have tinted windows and darkened headlights. But that may just be the way the picture was taken. You said wheels and paint are off the table. OK, but my car came stock with those wheels. They are now sitting behind the shed and I'd give them away free to anyone willing to come and get them. Besides, the widest tire you can run on them is a 245/45-17.

I like a clean looking Mustang so I'n not going to recommend stripes or decals. I also personally hate the look of projector headlights and tailights so I would never recommend them. If you want to do something to your lights, beside tint, then maybe get the sequential turn signal mod. I recommend starting simple. Mach 1 3-piece grill delete and Mach 1 front wing. A shorty antenna is a fairly inexpensive. If the roads around you will support it I would then recommend lowering your car a little with new springs. But anything you do to your suspension will reduce your ride quality. For ride quality I prefer progressive springs. I haven't done that to my car because I already bottom out on many of the roads around here.

Later, if you are willing to pour tons of cash into your car and perhaps custom build your own headers, I know of a turbo V6 that is putting out over 500 rwhp.
