Oh .....ok. Notice anything from it?
It feels a little more responsive but who the heck knows. I'm sure it added a few HP. Probably alot more if I would tune it. Need my warranty though.

get a ford pro-cal, if you have the dealer install it, you keep your warranty.

Are the ford cals any good? Where can you order them from?

Where do you find that? Now I'm curious
A while back i was on their site looking at parts for my 2013. When i got to the intakes, the page listed it as incompatible, so i looked under 2012 gt and the intake was compatible.
I emailed Steeda and they told me that the site is correct and they were currently working on a redesigned intake due to the 2013's hood and the heat extractor vents.
A week later there was a compatible intake on their site.
Feel free to email them to confirm, but i have no reason to make this stuff up :)

I have been thinking about putting a CAI on my 2013 but it looks like the hood vents would let water run right into the open filter. Is this the case? There doesn't seem to be too many aftermarket CAIs with a closed box design. I have also read that the stock CAI is just as good as aftermarket unless I get a tune? Any info would be great. Thanks!!
We haven't seen those issues with our CAI on the '13.

That's simply not correct regarding the stock CAI being 'just as good'. In our own testing approximately half of the gains from the CAI & tune are from the CAI itself.

Steeda redesigned their cold air intake for the 2013's.
Just thought I would let you guys know.
There is a separate intake for the 2011-2012 GTs and a separate one for the 2013 GT.
Not sure where you heard this, however it is not correct.

MY QUESTION:

Subject: 2013 mustang gt cold air intake question.

Hey guys, i just wanted to find out about your cold air intake for the new 5.0 mustangs.
I recently purchased a 2013 mustang gt with a manual transmission and I was considering your cold air intake for its superior construction.
I went to your website and saw that the intake is not listed as a compatible piece.
Every other website that sells your intake says it fits 2011-2013 mustang gt cars but your website says its not compatible.
So is that just a mistake on your page?
Thank you.

~Derek

SDEEDA's RESPONSE was:

"There is a very a small design change in process to accommodate the hood vent on the side the cold air intake sits on.

We should have an updated piece available for sale in the coming weeks."

Quite convenient that there was no name or any other information.

I won't know on the first question until my car arrives in 6-8 weeks. You can buy them at any authorized Ford Racing parts dealer like Ted Britt, Cowles or Purvis. Quite a few after market retailers sell them as well. The MSRP lists the M-9603-MGTB for $410.00. You get a K&N filter and Pro-Cal tune. The best price I found is $340.00 plus tax and I can pick it up at the Ford dealership.

You know and I know it is 100% correct. We have tested your Coyote and Roadrunner CAI's at the track and they are worth 0 gains over the stock airbox. Same can be said for the other CAI's we have tested. One plus to the Steeda CAI's is a nice stable MAF signal and they are very well made.

Good read:

wbt has an airaid for one off the top of my head.
I do. I don't think it is worth much of anything over the stock CAI however.

you know my feelings on cai's as well (for those who don't, I know they aren't worth much if anything, I'm in the same boat though as wbt, I have an airaid as well, it's not really hurting anything & looks good so I'm leaving it on, had I known what I go now when I bought it, I would have saved the 350.00), I was just trying to prove a point that not all the fastest bolt on coyotes have stock air boxes.

Absolutely right.

The quickest/fastest N/A bolt-on, stock long block 5.0 manual and auto trans cars both run an aftermarket CAI.

This Fall/Winter will be a game changer for times and will prove to be exciting. :)

Hello,

The MAF size starting 7/20/12 went from 95mm to 101mm. It wasn't a redesign.. it was an added improvement to an already great design.

Steeda 2011-13 Mustang GT Cold Air Intake - Made in the USA 555-3155 555-3156

I have attached a dyno sheet that was a test we did about a year and a half ago of the stock airbox vs the cold air.

On this test the car was loaded with a basic tune with no cam timing changes just so we could have a higher rev limiter that way we could rev the engine to the same RPM with both intakes without running into a limiter. Ignition timing was the same for both tunes.

The results show a “peak” gain of only 5 horsepower, but there is a lot more there if you read the dyno sheet. Gains started at about 4,500, with gains of 6 to 9 horsepower between 4,500 and 5,000. Between 5,300 and 6,100 gains were 7 to 10 horsepower. And between 6,700 and 7,200 the gains were an impressive 12 to 15 horsepower. So you can see measureable gains from a cold air intake.

If you don't believe the tests or think it does anything positive for your car then that is your opinion. You will many people on the forums swear by them and others that don't.

Best Regards

TJ
