I keep seeing online that all of the dual exhaust kits are only for GT's. What crap. My last Sixer had divorced dual exhaust, so clearly it can be done. Knowing that the stock midpipe is a Y, what do i need to do to get my new Six to divorced dual exhaust? Just replace the midpipe and bolt on a new system? Or will an aftermarket catback system just slap directly on the cats without need for a new midpipe? Being "catback" it seems like they would.

you will need to have someone cut the Y-pipe off of your exhaust and weld in a midpipe with flanges that will attach to your catback.

Also need different hangers for the tips as they need to hang lower to get them under the bumper

Cut the pipe off at the cats, pipe it to mufflers, pipe the mufflers to tips, and hang it where you want it.. Unless you dont want it under your bumper then dump it before the axle :).. The pacesetter kit is a waste.. You can weld the pipe directly to the cat.. flanges are nice for bolting up, but not required.. A stick of exhaust which is like ten ft I believe, at cost to an exhaust shop is like ten bucks.. Getting them to give it to you at cost is another feat but its really pretty easy..

so for instance can I buy an after market catted x pipe bolt that on the manifolds and hook up a stock v8 exhaust from that?

would be good to know incase I ever see someone parting out a v8 I can grab the exhaust cheap and do it that way instead of buying the whole setup for like $800 lol

YES, make sure x pipe says for v6 and YES you can use the gt catback

I grabbed the duals from a parted GT. Came with pipes, mufflers, and tips, cut off just after the H pipe. With the V6 you don't need a mid pipe at all since it is an even firing engine. Buying or fabbing a midpipe will add a few hundred onto the whole project. Just do what Gaetz said, cut the Y pipe, weld pipes directly from cats back and away you go
