I bought a 192 LX 5.0 that has a Tremec 3550 with some sort of HD clutch. The peddle pressure is very hard. Almost to the point it hurts to push on a day my knees are not working good. I broke 3 HD Zoom clutch cables.

I have checked by binds and see nothing wrong. The cable appears to be routed fine. Could there be a problem with the clutch itself. I was going to replace the clutch with one that has a software peddle pressure.

Does anyone know of a good street clutch that has lighter peddle pressure?

Whats weird is, I broke another cable tonight and the clutch cable dust cover came flying off. It shot out under the car like a rocket with a loud bang.

I think the original owner out a crazy hard strip clutch in it.

The first cable did break due to a clutch quadrant that wasn't installed properly. The quadrant actually cut the end of the cable off. I corrected this problem by realigning the quadrant.

The next 2 cables broke on the other end. One cable had the basing break apart and another the end came off.

I am sure it is the clutch that is in the car. Is there any clutch that is high performance and has light peddle pressure? Would the Centerforce dual friction fall into this category.

I solved the problem with the hard clutch. The clutch and pressure plate themselves were bad. Also, the pilot bearing in a million pieces when I removed the pressure plate. Overall the worn clutch was the major problem with hard peddle pressure.

The new king cobra clutch works great. Although, i changed the rear seal due to a leak and now it leaks even worse. I fear I have to take it apart again.

you may need to quick sleeve the crank journal if there was a nick in it (or you put one in it)
