when I put my ac/heat/defrost on the car runs like utter ****.... rpms drop to 700-800 and bounce up and down from 500 the car missfires and shakes and putts...
would this throw a code? I'm having a friend check it tomorrow maybe I can look for thatThere are vacuum lines in the heater system. These may be introducing a vacuum
leak.
Then, as Stephen suggested, I'd be checking for a vacuum leak after the HVAC head unit. Take a look under the dash (you may need to drop the glovebox, too) and you should be able to see the lines going to vacuum solenoids that operate the doors in the heater core/AC evap box. Verify that they're all in place (lines popping off those solenoids isn't all that uncommon).all of them.... thing is I just went out to run it right now and it wasn't nearly as bad as usual... maybe because the engine was still called?
alright so I just went to double check, it looks like there is just a bit of power steal when the engine is cold but when it warms up this is where the real problem accurs, when the engine is warm only the the ones that run the ac compressor give the missfire/rough idle symptoms and when turning the wheel while idle the exhaust putts, it almost sounds like fire crackers under water.... I'm trying to put vids of the idle up now later I can get some vids of the engine/exh while the ac is on.Does the problem occur in any HVAC position, or just those that run the AC compressor (defrost, defrost/floor, AC, and Max AC)?
