I'm guessing it's a ram air if you need it to seal to the hood

Just by my powers of deductive reasoning, I gather that you could just use some black foam with adhesive on one side to seal

Sorry guys. Been away from the computer. Thats the hood Towlie posted. The air box sits too far forward and only seals against 3/4 of the hood opening. Maybe an air box that sits closer to the shock tower??? I've heard the airaid box fits but I never heard back from Air aid.....also k&n airbox maybe..

Why does it really matter, your not gonna see that much if any gain and your gonna spend more money on a CAI

Even if the box sealed to the hood, it still will not suck air in from the scoops nor will cold air be shoved into the hood and to the air box. Only way would be to get a totally sealed box (front, back, bottom and both sides)and then seal it to the hood. Otherwise no matter how well it's sealed to the hood, the front, bottom and sides of the box are still open and will draw all the air from there.

Wasnt looking for it to actually suck in air. just wanted to direct as much of the the cold air coming in as i could towards the filter. Ended up cutting and reshaping the C&L box to fit at a different angle. actually seals against nicely now.

But that's the thing, at any speed above like 35, no air will be coming in from that hood. The only way to get air to come in from that hood at speed is to seal it off completely and make the intake breathe directly to it.

I believe there is a double layer that dumps the air caught by the vents right on top of the intake filter

i am well aware of this, but i was referring to the fact that the air will be going OVER the vents and not IN to the vents. the vents would have to be significantly higher (think subaru sti hood scoop) for any air to get in. i wanted a similar hood for the "cool air" to help with performance and that is when the science behind it was told to me and i went a different route.

This is true, that's why cowl ftw lol

I understand the difference is minimal if any, that wasn't the point. I like the hood so increasing its functionality as much as possible was the idea, and yes it has a double layer, but its not routed very well as far as directing the air somewhere useful
