all you really need are the two turbos (prolly like a couple of garrett 44s), some piping, a good welder, bigger injectors, better fuel pump, wastegate, blow off valve, hose fittings, v band "clamps", oil lines, calibrated mass air sensor for the injectors, different or flipped stock headers, and i think that's about it...
So if I turbo this basically stock 302 its going to be capable of taking the power of the turbos without hurting it? Thanks for helping man your helping out alot :)

no, you'll want to forge the internals and buy an aftermarket block.. and if you're only shooting for 400hp, twin turbo is NOT the way to go.. i'd recommend a N/A 347, or even a supercharged or single turbocharged 302.. what is the fastest car you've ever been in? i'm not tryin to knock ya bro, but 400hp is ALOT faster than most people think.. unless you've actually driven a 400hp car, you dont know what its like..

im just tryin to keep you from getting hurt lol

yea i'm with BWAL cuz your stock 5.0 is probly only puttin out round 200-220 hp at best. i was jus tellin ya what you'd need if ya wanted to do a TT build. but if you only want 400 hp jus go with a single and then maybe wait and get used to it b4 you get a second one. ;)

Yeah I think I'll take your advice bud;)I looked up a single turbo kit that had everything for about 400 bucks. If its just single do I still have to do anything to the 302 first. I was reading about them and its just a bolt on right it did'nt really look that complicated, what I got out of it was you just get all the **** bolt it on and its ready or is it a pain in the butt lol?

turbo kits are 3000 to 5000 bucks and you absolutely need a tune

Grey Pony, This is a major mod... I would not recommend you tearing this car down and attempt this until you have done a lot of reading/ learning about turbo'd mustangs and other turbo'd cars. You need to learn how it all works. This car will end up sitting in pieces till it gets junked in a few years after you have wasted tons of money and still don't have it running.
This is a major job and until you have a good understanding I would just do some easier stuff. You can make it plenty fast with out all the work involved with doing a turbo set-up without the knowledge to do it.
Just a few things that you will need to do for the turbo set-up.
ECU will need reprogrammed too, exhaust, inter cooler(for best results), Head gasket for sure(block or heads should be o-ringed at this time), might want to upgrade the stock E-7 heads with some gt40's, injectors, fuel pump, at least a GT-40 intake, throttle body and mass air should be upgraded for air flow, hard pipes will need to be made too, might want to look into a beefier clutch or shift kit if an auto.... and don't forget that more power makes more heat so you will need a bigger radiator.
And of course you will need to get some real gauges cause you cant guess the boost or air fuel mixture, oil temp, a good accurate oil pressure and temp.
So do yourself a favor and get some of the things going on your car now so that in time when you are more experienced you can do the swap. You might want to upgrade the stock E-7 heads with some gt40's, injectors, fuel pump, at least a GT-40 intake, throttle body and mass air should be upgraded for air flow. Do a good exhaust on it and headers, if you have not done it already. It will be the best money spent for starters. Then work on getting air into the motor. Make it breathe good, going in and out.
You'll enjoy the car as you build it.... but start from the bottom and work your way up in stages...
Sorry to make it sound like you don't know much. But when you have to ask what you need to do a major project then you have not done your reading on what is involved and that means your not ready to do it.
But take your time and read a lot. There are write ups all over the net and different ways to build the car. Shoot for 300hp, be realistic for hp numbers. 300hp is still plenty quick to start out.
Good luck on what ever you do.

Are you serious with going with a 5.0 Turbo? If so heres some helpful info, If not you're a TOOL !

I would *NOT* go with a Cartech SS Turbo kit .. heres why....
BAD: driverside header too close to master cylinder, brake fluid gets very hot. have to run a/c and p/s if you want to retain your p/s.

Good: pretty ez install, only have to cut one 3 in hole on the driver inter fender well.

However, I would recommend doing some research into the (B&G Turbo Kits)
or...
You can look into the Hellion turbo kits, they are amazing and you do not have to cut a thing on your car!

you could hit 400 alot easier if ya went N/A...build a strong motor first...boost later.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Its good that your asking questions, but this is probably not a good place to start. Turbocharging is complicated, and even though there are "kits" on the market, it still takes knowledge AND experience to make everything work. If you have to ask questions BEFORE you do it, maybe you didnt research it enough, and need to think twice about your decisions. All the info is out there.

Thank god for the 5.0 HO :D and 400hp isnt that bad... ive taken my bros 347 down the track... i remember when i saw the sky... I just smiled and ran a 11.5 @ 127mph:)

also bwal, he wont need an aftermarket block.. He can easily run 400 hp to the motor with injecters and fuel pump. Its the amount of PSI that blows up a motor.. most safe areas are around 5-7 psi.

I agree 1000% with this.

You can turbo a stock motor but the question is WHY. The stock motor should not have more than 6 psi of boost run through it to operate safley without engine damage. And 6psi for as much as your gonna spend on it is not worth it. For the 3K your gonna spen on a turbo You could have a 347 stroker that if built with the right heads cam and intake will put out alot more power than if you were to bolt on 6 psi of boost
