Hey guys quick question for ya'll.

This past weekend my father and I installed the BBK LT headers and the catted mid pipe. The install went fairly easy, with some grunt work on some stuck bolts.

The issue I am having now is that my check engine light is on now. I used my tuner to get the codes, I can get them again and post them if need be, and it states codes for the exhaust and maifolds. I am thinking that it is not reading the O2 sensors correctly. The car is driving laggy and somewhat unresponsive.

I currently have Roush AB, Airaid CAI, bama tuner and now the LT and mid pipe. Will a new tune help to erase the check engine light and restore power and drive? I just sent my tune request into to Bama today and should have it in a day or so.

Thanks

It sounds like you're getting a CEL because your car is tuned for the Long Tubes and X-pipe. We can quickly make some adjustments to your tune and get you squared away!

Just give the Bama team a call and they'll hook you up! They can be reached at the contact information listed in my signature.

tyahrens,

It's very cool that your farther helped you with the install. Good for you guys to do it yourself and save a few bucks. I've always had the same goal myself!

The way your thread reads, you're currently requesting Bama for your first set of tunes to accommodate for the LT's? Or are you requesting a revision for a tune that was already written for your LT's?

The 11+ Mustangs are especially sensitive to LT headers. When you move the O2 sensors much farther down the exhaust, your PCM requires a few tweaks to make the car run smooth again. The Bama Team performs these tweaks on a daily basis, so I'm confident they'll have your Mustang running smooth again and pick up some nice power gains!

If you need any addition assistance with anything, please let me know. Also, get back to me about the questions above when you have a chance!

I think you're on the right track with the updated Bama tune. I think I would have ordered the new tune prior to installing the new mods, that way after the mods were installed, the new tune would be available. Just my 2 cents.

If your not running a tune for your headers, there will be a significant difference in the way your car runs. You should have gotten your tune ready prior to installing the headers.

Hey thanks for the replies guys! I figured that was the issue, I should have the new updated tune in shortly.

I was going to order it, I talked to another person about it and said you didn't need it. Well, I obviously do! Haha

Thanks again, I'll post here if it fixed the issue.

Ok i got the new tunes and loaded them on and put the one I want on the stang.

The check engine light went off and I drove it around for a little bit. Few hours later I went to go to the store and got the light again. Here are the codes:

P0000
P0013
P0010
P0020
P0023

Im going to try reinstalling the tunes on my tuner again and if it doesn't work I guess I'll call Bama. Any ideas on what it could be?

I re-installed the tunes on my tuner and reset my car to stock. I then installed the tune I wanted and it erased the check engine light. After about 30 minutes of driving, I went to fill up on gas, and when I started the car the light was back on. I'm going to give the guys at Bama a call tomorrow to see what they say.

Anyone have a clue what is going on?

Ok gave Bama a call this morning and they gave me some options to check out. I'll have to wait for the weekend and I'll keep you posted

I'm sorry to hear about all of the issues you've been experiencing! I wish there was more I could do for you but at this point its in the Bama teams hands. I'm confident they'll get you squared away and have you enjoying your tune in no time!

Keep working with them directly and keep us posted!

Will do! Its just weird, it runs fine when I first load the tune, but if I turn the car off and restart it, thats when the issues reoccur.

Ok got an update for you. I purchased brand new upstreams and put them on my car. After reinstalling the tune I turned the car on and off. I got the code P0443 - evaporation code. I then drove it for about 15 miles and came back home. I turned the car off and on again and the old camshaft codes came on again.

I have no clue what to do. I dropped it off earlier at a local garage and they didnt have a clear answer other than the replace the 02 sensors, put the stock tune on and take it to the dealership. I doubt the dealer will be do much since the car has been modified and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg. My other option is to try and take it to a performance garage in town and have them check it.

Is there a way to test the camshaft sensors? At the garage, they said the codes were reading open circuit, as if there was a short or trip somewhere. Is it possible that my camshaft sensors themselves went out? I don't really want to buy more parts until I can figure out what really is going on.

id take it to a good dyno shop, have them give you a custom tune and take a look at your ecu problems. i feel like a good tuner would know his way around your computer better than anyone. just an idea

Ok that's going to be my course of action for now. Better than wasting money on parts that are not solving the problem.

Yep! Got it back today from the dealership. I dropped it off at a friend of the family who manages a ford service department. After 2 days of checking it out, they found the problem.

I had meant to check it myself but never did. There were 3 fuses blown that were throwing the codes. Dont know how they blew, but I definently could of saved myself some cash and checked myself.

reloaded the tune and the car hauls!!!

Thanks for the help everyone,
