so guys, ive had 2 mustangs, a 96 gt, and currently a 2002 gt(both 5 speed).

i love em to death, there great cars, but with gas being so high, and me not being able to keep my foot out if it, im looking for something different. a guy has offered me a 95 240sx zenki with the sr20det s14 blacktop swap. the body has almost 200k and the motor has 50k. he says hes a certified tech, and he did the swap himself, along with these mods:

mushimoto aluminum radiator, electric fans, fmic, equal length manifold, 3 inch elbow, downpipe, and cat back, Megan lowering springs, cs rear camber arms, brand new brakes, rotors, and tie rods. the paint looks good and hes also rolled the wheel wells. might i also add that he kept a/c and power steering with the swap which is a plus!. :banana

now my car has 84k miles. with cai, plenum, and catback. its got leather seats power everything, got the mach 1000 system which is great. only downfall is cant plug my phone into it to listen to music from there which sucks. instead i have to make tons of cds for the 6 cd changer which kinda seems like its on the way out anyway. i looked into installing an aftermarket head unit but the wiring is apparently a b**** to keep the mach system working with it.

the guy with the 240 has installed a touchscreen system that supports iphones. from there i could just hook up a 10inch in the back with an amp and be done stereo wise.

But sound system isnt everything. ive always liked the looks of the 240sx and always wanted a turbo car, i just dont know if his car is really worth the value of my car.

now i know posting this on a mustang forum im probably guna get alot of biased answers, but still, what do you guys think ?

Personally I think you'd be taking a huge loss trading for that car.

I have no idea what "240sx zenki with the sr20det s14 blacktop swap" means but we'll assume its a performance engine, you mention a turbo. So what makes you think that this will be any better MPG then your current car.

I don't think you'll find much support on this forum suggesting trading a Mustang for a Nissan (minus the GT-R), regardless of the details, but this sounds like a bad idea.

You have a 95 Nissan with god knows what swapped where for your near cherry Mustang.........

and about the mpg thing. it comes stock on that motor from the factory and the injectors arent anything huge. ive talked to people that have had 240sx with that swap and they say they see close to 30 mpg if they stay out of boost and around 19-21 mpg boosting it constantly. thats at around 10-12 psi.

It looks like a decently clean 240sx but I've never been into them. It's up to you but it's definitely taking a risk with those miles. MPG is important but it wouldn't be the first fun car I'd look at if I actually cared about it.

That's a clean looking s14. Most people around here beat the **** out of 240's. a sr20 swap is a pretty straight forward 240 swap in a 240 so I wouldn't be worried about that. Personally you already have 2 mustangs if you can get him to throw some cash on top I'd probably do it.

And just FYI you'll probably get closer to 25 mpg avg

that s14 looks sick!!! if you need a 10 inch sub for cheap I'm selling one… 10 inch rockford fosgate in a carpeted slim box with a 250 watt kenwood amp.. i bought it for like 350 brand new with custom box for my wrangler i used to have.. i don't want it in my mustang… if you want it i will gladly sell it for like 100 plus shipping obo. just pm me if your feelin it. and again thats a clean s14. they look real good with some deep dish two piece wheels all around too

Looks clean, idk though. Those can look good but it can be beat to **** as far as the drivetrain goes. If he's putting cash on top, than it would be fair. I think your mustang is worth more than that 240.

I'm going to check it out this weekend. If I get it the interior will probably get a makeover as it is a 1995 car. Then mabey a body kit and paint. I just look at it this way. Mustangs are everywhere. If i end up not liking the 240, I should be able to sell it no problem and find another stang fairy easily. Preferably one without the Mach system so I don't have to hastle with all the wiring to get the setup I want . But atleast I can say I've owned a turbo s14.

^^^^^oops double post lol ^^^^^^

As you said they might get around 30mpg if they stay out of the boost. If you don't keep out of the mustang's happy pedal then I don't think you would the 240 either. If you like your car perform a driver mod and hit your right foot with a hammer every time you wanna mash it with daily driving. I'd only take the trade with cash on top personally.
