whats up everyone, my boss at work (detail shop) is buying an '04 GTO tomorrow and is talking all smack. Its a 6 speed and he is a pretty good driver. I have an 00 GT with k&n new plugs, new clutch, and a tune. I am also a good driver. what are my chances in this? any tricks to winning, ie. rolling start, 50 mph punch or anything like that. furthermore, what about an LS2 GTO...what about the chances on that one. anything will be a help.
LS1 and LS2 GTO win or no?

LS1 GTO you will probably lose. The best way to shoot for a win is from a dig if you can launch good. Their launches are poor because of their IRS. I have a buddy with an LS1 GTO and I work him on the launch, but by 50 mph he's cruizin' on by.
LS2 GTO... no chance with out sufficient mods.

on which motor. the LS1, i know i cant take an LS2 right now, im just concerned about the 04

05-06=LS2

Go from a dig, give it hell, powershift,...and have some ninja stars ready for his tires if all else fails....ninja star mod baby...ninja star mod :yes
I wouldn't consider him missing a gear, or spinning way too much off the line a loss though. If that happens it just means you're the better driver, which I would prefer in your case.

i raced an auto LS2...i actually was ahead of him, but that's because the guy sucks i guess

the lsx series motors are great with midrange to high rpms...you will be raped from a roll against the ls2. If you can get the ls1 from a dig you may get him a for a while, but I'm thinkin he will take that one. The ls motors aren't a motor to laugh at.

you are fckd...!!!! lol.. jk. it could be a close race if he spins and you dont or whatever but if you pull from him expect him to walk around you by the 1/4 lol. i have beaten the ls2 but it was DEFINITELY no slouch! I jumped him out of the hole and he was tryin to walk around me but i got to the finish line before he could! haha

sorry but it doesnt look too god..the ls2 comes with 400hp stock
