It all comes down to personal taste, and maybe what generation you come from. I'm a Mopar guy at heart, actually, and this 07 is my first Mustang.
For me, a Charger was a 2 door muscle car that just looked badass. I can't argue with the fact that they make some great performance Chargers, especially the SRT8, but they should have called it something other than a Charger. I dunno, it just seems blasphemous to me to call a 4100 lb, 4 door luxo-performance-cruiser a Charger. BLaRgh.

It's not a bad car, but I guess you could call it a bad muscle car, or Charger, like you said.

And the quote in your sig disturbs me just a lil' :wink :D

The one thing i def dont like about it is that it only comes in auto. Real muscle cars should come in both. The charger seems more family oriented.

What does an srt-8 charger run in the quarter mile stock?

I'm not a fan. I think it should have been called something else.

When I think charger, those don't come to mind.

Here, the police drive them... So if you're wondering if I've been in one, then the obvious answer is yes. :lmao

it just doesn't seem to carry the muscle car vibe to me like the new mustang does. Its got a powerful engine, thats about it as far as muscle car is concered. Its got luxury, witch is ok, but dont call it a charger, because it's really not a true charger. +1 for the changer, lol.

i used to agree with you on this, my friends got a 73 charger, custom flame paint job and custom front end, its a bad ass car. when the new one was released as a 4 door, i thought it looked like ****. but i also thought that about the new mustangs, but both have grown on me. go test drive a new charger with the hemi in it, you'll change your mind about it haha.

My uncle just bought a brand new Charger R/T, he has had it amonth and he is selling it. He said it wastes too much gas, the interior and ride are not up to par with the price he paid, the performance was only mediocre, and he wishes he had back the Yukon Denali he traded in.

exactly. the srt-8 looks pretty sweet and although ive never been in one im sure they are fast and fun to drive. but its not a charger in my book. they should have named it somthing else.

Remind me again what the old ones weighed? And what was the intent of the original? Wasn't it a luxo-performance-cruiser?

You were wanting more specs:
Base model has 3.5L V6, makes about 250hp
R/T has the 5.7 Hemi, makes about 350hp
SRT-8 has the 6.1 Hemi and makes about 420hp

And the spec I found said the base model weighs slightly over 3800 lbs. I can't imagine that the 6.1L motor weighs 300 pounds more than the V6.

BTW, I am most certainly NOT a mopar guy, but the new Challenger is the hotness. Maybe Ford will finally drop an N/A 5.4L in the Mustang to compete.

Actually Ford is supposedly beefing up the 09-12 GTs to over 400 I believe. That Super Snake isn't nearly as great unless you get the beefed up package that has 700+hp.
