helped a friend last night replace an 05 mustang GT stock shifter with a Pro 5.0 short throw w/new shift knob.... it is a pretty stout piece, he loves the new feel. here are the compare pics;

why is that, the only thing i could see is that you don't get the same driveline feel from the remote shift... i read an article sean hyland motorsports posted on their suggestive installation, but i found it much easier to drop it in from the top instead of trying to fight it past the driveshaft.Casper98GT said:yeah i personally think its a shitty design. I dont like it what so ever. I have put in a couple now. And everytime i have done them it makes me sick to my stomach.... I like my RWD shifter much better.![]()
no real increased cabin noise that i noticed, are you talking about vibration noise or road noise?cjjreed said:99mustang232,
After you installed the new shifter, did you feel like you got increased cabin noise? I just installed a Steeda Tri Ax and my car got horribly loud. I've check the weather boot and it looks good to go. I had a dealership install it, so I'm not sure if they did anything to the exhaust, but they said the didn't. Thanks for your input.

I was talking about both vibration and exhaust noise in the cabin... it seems as though I can hear my exhaust significantly more than before the swap. Do you find this true in your friends car?no real increased cabin noise that i noticed, are you talking about vibration noise or road noise?
I have a steeda shifter and have not experienced any more cabin noisecjjreed said:99mustang232,
