Long but it will last.
1) Wet sanded with 220 ( i think )
2) Let dry, then you notice some spots you missed, then sanded them spots again.
3) Cleaned whole wheel with Laquer thinner, let dry.
4) Wiped down the rim with one of the sticky towel things (forgot what they are called)
5) Masked off the tire as well as the inside of the wheel.
6) Put many thin coats of black high performance gloss paint from rustoleum.
7) Put a coat of high performance clear from rustoleum.
I know of a friend of mine who went as far as using 3 different grits of sandpaper and steel wool, as well as primer. But thats how I did it and haven't had any chips, even from the salty roads of NJ. Shines very nice once cleaned
