I love my 4.10's. Wouldn't trade them for a thing. And im staying N/A, just like you OP.

The best part about 4.10's is that you can literally go from 1st at 8mph, to 4th with veryyyy little clutch and it doesn't even bog that bad at all. You'll deff feel the torque. Especially with full bolt-ons.

If you drive highway a lot, and by that I mean everyday, i'd go with 3.73's. Just my personal experience though!

Typical. You have nothing technical to add so you call names. A year or so ago there was a thread about who hates 4.10s. You would be surprised at how many responses it got. I suppose they are all wusses. And what about the guys that have a lot more horsepower than you. I suppose they are wusses too.

You're either running that Fox at an 1/8 mile track or else you have a very high redline.
Quarter mile car on 28" tire. On 26" street tire it will roast them in 4th at 100mph ;) . Dynoed up to 7000rpm I only take her to 6500, rev limiter set at 7000rpm via msd 2al

Something about havin a 110 top speed in fourth without goin over redline backs me off from 4.10s
Right, cause you'll be blasting to 110mph on a regular basis.

I head to work at 4 am so most of the time no cars in sight. Its just nice to have and my commute is 40 miles one direction all expressway. So no 4.10s for me. Possibly going with 3.73s
That is alot of highway. I'd agree 3.73's would be a better option for that drive.

The 28" tire helps. With 620 hp I knew you had to have a higher trap speed than 108 mph (6000 rpm). But it also watered down the gear. If the 28" diameter is shelf diameter and I use Cliff's standard 97% for a loaded tire and his calculator you would have a speed of about 128 mph at 6500 rpm (more if the 97% is off). A standard size tire with 3.73s has a calculated speed of about 129 at 6500 rpm. Pretty much the same.

But if my car were a dedicated track car I'd do the same. I'd run 4.10s with a 28" tire. There are advantages to that tall of a side wall.

EXACTLY. But I'm not hitting 128-129 lol I wish. More like 124mph :/

So your Fox has 620whp, spins at 100mph, and only traps 124? I call BS.

My car will spin at 70mph (no faster than that though) with more power, but I'm assuming more weight (~3350lbs), has 655whp & 4.10s, and I trapped 122mph w/ 444whp. Haven't been back to the track with the new setup, but I'll be disappointed if it doesn't trap 135-138mph.

That 124mph trap does seem very low for the power the car is making and its weight. With 620rwhp that car should be a rocket. Unless you are quoting flywheel hp, which is about 525rwhp through a stick and 495rwhp through an auto. Should still run quicker than 124mph though.

I was calling him a wuss as a joke to this statement. So Eagle unless I call you a name, do me a favor and mind your own business. If you complain about shifting then dont change stock gears. Its like going fi and not wanting more tire spin. It comes with the territory.

Lol at people acting like 3.73s are drastically different from 4.10s.

And the "car is worthless" posts.

Don't fear the gear, unless you are over the 500hp mark, then I'd start consider going to a higher ratio. I DD'd 4.10s for several years, and unless these people are driving in rain everyday, first gear is shorter but still there. If you want a long 1st and 2nd gear, buy a Honda.

If you read back I wasn't the only one that missed your joke.

No need to get all grumpy.... it's on street tires. On Et streets hooks up around 40-45mph, but at the track it's a different story obvs. Your car is impressive can't wait to see times this coming season.

For the haters. Pump gas 18psi

Not grumpy. Just don't see how a 620whp car only traps 124mph.

For one It's on a stock t5 so I shift it slow as ****, I also don't have a cage and tracks in my area give me a ton of **** so I try to roll her through at 11.5 lol. It's a garage queen stock suspension in rear, stock trans, stock suspension up front. Went a diff route with my 99 instead of dropping in a power plant I just built my suspension Lil weight reduction here and there and is much more fun.

When I put my 9-inch rear in, I half considered putting in 4.30s or 4.33s. At my power level (mid 400s) I would have been going through the traps right about 6500 rpms (perfect for me), where my rev-limiter kicks in. I thought about how I'd probably add more power somewhere along the way, so I settled on 4.11s.
