It will be quieter as well. If you can get 2 MAC mufflers for $25, I would pick them up. You can resell them for more than that.

well the guy wants $375 for the slp setup and right now im broke so im trying to trade a set of rims for either exhaust cowl hood or 4.10 gears..
Well, I also have 4.10's that I might sell... Lol
They're brand new in the box.

First, loudness in the cab doesn't necessarily mean loudness at the curb. I ran the original Flowmaster 40s for about 3 years. The drone killed my ears. I then had the Flowmasters cut out and Magnaflow welded in. Much better when driving. Outside loudness (decibles) are exactly the same between the two but the Magnaflows are much easier on the ears.

I thought the Magnaflows were quite until I heard my son drive off with the car. I was standing on the curb. Wow, the car sounded awesome to me.

I have the exact opposite with my flowmasters. Quiet as a mouse inside and pretty loud on the outside. Sounds amazing too, I had a guy randomly walk up and compliment me on the sound of my car today, he thought I had borlas

Flowmaster makes a lot of different mufflers. Were they the original 40s or a different brand? Odessa has a thread discussing the differences. He is a pretty strong supporter of Flowmasters.

I got some American Thunders from 07 Boss, and they were on his car when he bought them I believe. So I don't know much about them.

I test drove a car this weekend with 4.10 gears and flowmasters it had slight drone which I liked. And sounded amazing when I got on it. The best part was the cackling as I decelerated. That's what has me on the exhaust kick. I have some rims I want to trade for an exhaust set up but so far everyone is super far lol.

The drone with my old mufflers were cool at first but I learned to hate it really ****ing fast. Do yourself a favor and make sure whatever setup you get doesn't drone at all.
I'm used to drone. I've drove with it for years in my truck. I like just a little I don't like driving in silence I wanna hear the roar.

25 for a pair of Mac mufflers isn't bad at all, SLPs are my favorite thus far. Ill sell my loudmouth 1 resonators if your interested, I want to pick up some loudmouth 2's for myself

The drone we are talking about isn't the purr (or roar) of the exhaust system. The Magnaflows I'm running now have the same decibel rating at the original Flowmaster 40s I had before. They are just as loud but do not hurt your ears on the longer rides. The drone we are talking about is a resonating hum in addition to the exhaust sound between 1800-2200 rpm that just beats on your ears.
