Welcome, Keith!

Very nice motor, love the "engine bay pic of you"
Very clean inside and out. What numbers do you put down? and what do you run in the 1/4?

You are running an 8.8" rear too right?

Just gotta say- kickass job with your v6 man- oh, I saw your videos on YouTube too, be sure to Join the ModdedMustangs group over there too!

Thanks,

With the stock motor and powerdyne I put down 250 and ran a best of 13.7. Now with the new motor and Novi 2000, planning on putting down 500 and running low 11's or even high 10's.
Gotta love it! A modular v8 with that power would only run a mid 11. The v6 has a definite weight advantage, and with that setup in mind, you should have no problem hitting those marks. You going to the Southern Ford V6 Challenge this March?

Welcome to the site...

500 horsepower and only mid 11s? right. theres a weight advantage but damn not big enough to make a 500 horsepower car go mid 11s. thats all driver error right there. me and joe both were real close to the 10s with only 400 and 450 hp? hmmmm. :dunno welcome to the site dapack. nice to have another nice v6 around. be sure to stop by and sign up on the member's map.

Mid 11's? Don't remember saying that any where. Kinda hard to be driver error considering I have an auto, just hit the gas and go. It's a litte harder for us V6's to leave the hole as well. We don't have the torq, unlike our bigger brothers.

He was talking about AB's comment...

There are guys running mid 11's on sub 400rwhp...Hell there are guys pulling the front wheels with under 400rwhp...

Suspension would definitely make a car, especially at those speeds/times, but didnt joe go 11.47 on 450rwhp? Granted that would be a high 10 on 500... :dunno

I have also seen the front end pulled with about 300rwhp. it is all about weight ratio-front/rear, power weight ratio, and launch with sticky tires...

well, i guess i am off the mark with a 500rwhp gt only running mid 11s, should be high 10s, but then again, the v6 with the same power should go mid 10s low 10s... Just seems like matt neuhart had a hell of a lot more than 500rwhp and a great launch when he ran his 9 second pass this past year in his v6...

3.8 V-6 Fully Dressed - 351lbs
4.6 DOHC Mod V8 fully dressed- 521lbs

The difference is 170lbs...

So if the V6 and V8 weighed the same for everything but the engine the V6 would have them by over a 1/10th of a second or so...Possibly 2/10ths...

no joe went an 11.47 on 412 rwho i went 11.20 on 453 rwhp. as of now i should be running around a 12 flat with motor only, and after the blower 10 wills be bo problem

i didnt mean to hijack this thread and i do apoligise. dapack, i went and looked at ya on gotstang and that is a very nice car. any 1/4 mile times out of it yet.

Yeah I would like to know some 1/4 mile times...
