no i didnt, 4:10 is lower gearing than 3:73, 3:27 ect. is that what you said as well?

are you ok, you are contadicting what you and i are are saying i think

any way lets end this thread, it is not supposed to be about this and we have answered all the questions so far i think

the key words are "i think"....so the only other way i can convince you to believe that you wont get very high speeds with 4:10s opposed to 3:50s ...is ask a speed shop....because that is what i did.....the man i asked had been drag racing for over 30 yrs and i think that some one that drag raced for over 30 yrs would know something about gear ratios and which will go faster in the long run
 
if a v6 can actually reach 160 easily, 4:10s would lower its top speed, but it cannot, so 4:10s are not low enough of a gear to lower the top speed.

Yes a really really low gear will lower a stockish v6's speed, but not mere 4.10's

but lets end this dumb one way argument anyway, it is kind of off topic
 
ok........it all started with me trying to explain to the kid how gears work and what to expect...but i never heard that 4:10s will increase your speed

4.10's will undoubtedly increase your acceleration ni all gears but you will redline much faster but say 3.5 or the stocks ones will have slower acceleration but higher top speed not too mention much better gas mileage. i believe blueatlantic told me that 3.73 gears will drop your top speed by like 5 mph, dont quote me nor him on that though im just going from memory which doesnt always work correctly >.< but depsite your top speed if you get a lower gear ratio your top speed will drop.

wow i need to start checking the dates sorry about that. im new and just posting on all the threads...
