Everything is the same on both from the block to the heads right? I can just build it form the bottom up and decide once I'm to that point....Only reason I might go with carb is that my dad knows alot more about it than efi and I'm still learning everything. Would an intake from a 351 fit a 302, I thought I read somewhere they were compatible.

No the intakes are not the same. The 351w lower intake is wider by about 2 inches since the deck height is 1.3 inches taller.

Not much difference between the motor EFI vs. carb as far as building the motor besides the camshaft. You can run a much wilder cam in a carb car than you can with stock electronics EFI system. Also the distributor will be different.

I'm going to go carb to simply things. I found out today my dad has two Victor Jr Intakes, one for a 302, and one for a 351. That means one less thing to buy...

Yeah, the 351w victor Jr is a decent intake.

spend the money and get a good carb, don't think a used 100 dollar carb is going to be a deal it's only going to give you problems and make the car miserable to drive , get a double pumper i've had lots of carbed cars and they work awesome on the street, 650 for a 302 or 750 for a 351 i very highly recommend Quick Fuel Tech they a really good carb

I highly suggest a 4150, why would you want a demon? I hope not because of the way they look.
Oh come on, they look really cool!!!!!!

The last Demon I will ever own was a 1000cfm on a 347 a couple years ago. The car seemed pretty responsive and ran smooth but it was a turd. I went thru that Demon carb over and over again. I watched their video numerous times thinking that maybe I forgot how a carburetor works. Nothing worked. The car just wouldn't go. Bolted on a used Holley 1000HP and picked up 4 tenths without touching anything else. I'll never buy another Demon. I've heard many others having the same issues. I've also heard the metal shaving horror stories but I have never experienced that myself.

No, I did the opposite switch from darrel, from a 750 4150 to a 650 mighty demon and picked up 2-3 tenths. I didn't have any metal shavings either.

I like the fact that you get blended venturis, serviceable airbleeds, an idle ease screw so you don't have to drill any throttle plates, and they flow about 100 cfm better than a 4150 with the same size baseplate, plus they come with clear sight windows that are a lot bigger than the sight plugs in a 4150. That is not to knock holley at all, they make an awesome product with an amazing track record. I just think the features you get on the mighty demon for the price make it very competitive.

I don't have any experience with the dominator style demons and I have heard lots of bad things about the blow through demons, but I have been pretty happy with the mighty demon line. Barry grant carbs have a pretty good reputation as well.

2 guys around here have had problems with demon carbs and hate em , i don't know the facts so this is just their opinion

i must say again i love my QFT carb

I hate the 2 dudes from over here don't like them kinda story, for all we know they could have installed them upside down.

i'm not damning the demon carbs, the 2 guys both have low 11 sec cars, 1 is a heavily modded 302 with nitrous and the other guy has a stroked windsor, both were running demons, 1 had a lot of trouble getting his car to idle and the other guy had trouble getting his car to run right, both eventually switched to regular holleys and they liked them much better, again this is not first hand info and i'm not bashing demons as i have no experience with them , i just know the guys pretty well and they are pretty decent wrenches so i give their oppinions some weight

Well for what it is worth, I don't personally know anyone that bought a new demon and had any problems with it. But I have heard lots of stories. I think most of them were started by holley stock holders.
