^^what size idler pulleys and belt are you running? Are they all 90mm? My 08 is going in for a 5.0 stroker in a couple weeks and have been looking for pulleys to use with a 2.75 pulley.
I actually don't really know as the work was done at Brenspeed over many months and I was not there in person.

I would suggest giving them, (Brenspeed) a call and ask George as he was over the project.

Ask to speak to George Dockery at Brenspeed.

Guys,

I have not posted anything for a reason.

Below is an up-date on what is going on for those interested.

George at Brenspeed handles their TX. Shop entirely for all matters from IN.
That takes a lot of his daily working hrs. as you can imagine plus his other duties Brent has him doing at the Pierceton, IN. Shop.
I'm mentioning the above as George had not had time to look into the recent noise in my valve-train.
That is why Brent had it picked up in the enclosed trailer and brought back to them in IN.
George now handles the "tigermachine II" exclusively.
No other Tech will now be working on it, period.
That means I have to have patience on this end.
George as I have explained above has other Full-Time responsibilities that Do-Not include working on the, "tigerhonaker II".

The Up-Date ...

As of last weekend George decided to come in on his own and look into what and where was the ticking/noise coming from.

He located the issue on the passenger side under that valve cover.

It was a Stock Ford Cam Follower loose.

Here is what is now going to take place as I received the following E-Mail from George.

Subject: RE: Fixing the "tigermachine"

Tiger,

I ordered Comp Beehive 26125-24 springs and 710-24 retainers.
These were suggested by the head engineer at comp cams.

(I run the 127450 Comp Blower Cams)
(The valve springs right now are the Ford Racing that came with the Ford Racing Heads)

XFI™ SPR FORD 4.6L/5.4L MODULAR 3V CAMS

(SPRING & PHASER MODS REQUIRED)

The COMP Cams® XFI™ SPR (Springs and Phaser Mods Required)
Camshafts are the best way to achieve the most horsepower

and torque increases possible with the popular Ford 4.6L/5.4L Modular 3
Valve engines. This last group of cam sets

is available for both naturally aspirated and supercharged engines, and
each version is offered in three performance levels.

Designed to work with a modified Ford variable cam timing (VCT) system,
these camshafts are direct replacement

components. Working with the required COMP Cams® Cam Phaser Limiter
Kit (Part #5449; patent pending), these XFI™

SPR Cams optimize both low and high rpm performance. As noted by the
COMP Cams® engineering staff during extensive

dyno testing, these camshafts provided the biggest power and torque
improvements of any cam series they’ve ever tested

in the Ford Modular 3 Valve engine.

We are getting the Jesel followers from them, (Jesel) it will take a couple of days for the paperwork to go through once that is done.
(Brenspeed is going to be a Jesel Authorized Dealer)
They can be assembled in 2-3 days, then ship from Arizona that will be another 3-4.
I will have the Heads off of your car this Saturday.

With the above being said by me and the recent E-Mail from George you are now completely up to date.

Here are a few Pics. I received from George as attachments in his E-Mail this morning.

Jesel OHC Billet Aluminum Followers
Jesel - FOLLOWERS

How much did those Jesel followers set you back, if you don't mind me asking?
No problem asking me questions.

The Jesel Billet Aluminum Followers for the OHC are like $3,000.00 dollars parts only.

Those are some good parts going into your car Terry! I didn't even realize you were having any problems with the motor but good to see that you are being taken care of and tigermachine will be up and running again soon.
No serious issues with it at all.
I just pulled out of a business here in Franklin, TN. which was like 4-5 miles from my house.
As I eased out on the street I heard a ticking noise coming from the passenger side and seemed to be coming from under the passenger side valve cover.
Got hold of Brent (Brenspeed Owner) and he said to take it home and not to start it again.
He had it picked up in an enclosed trailer and it is at Brenspeed waiting now on all the parts to arrive.
Turned out when George took that valve cover off one of the Stock Cam Followers was loose and that was the noise I heard.

Decision was made to go with the Jesel Billet Aluminum Followers and also to change the valve springs from the Ford Racing to the Comp 26125-24 Racing Springs and Retainers.

Now just a matter of Brenspeed getting the parts so George can do his thing.

Jesel followers are about $125 a piece x24...=$3000. There was an article in a mustang magazine where JPC put a set in a turbo 2v and picked up over 40hp. Nice looking follower, but damn they're expensive.

I knew they were pricey, but man they are beautiful!
I will agree they are, (Pricey) but I suppose in this case you get what you are paying for.

I did read that complete Article and as you said there was a 40 HP improvement.
I'm not really counting on the 40 HP thing so much as the increased, (Reliability).

Morning all,

Just received this Pic. from George as he is doing his thing today.
He is taking the heads off and sending them to the Machine-Shop to have the Ford Racing V-Springs changed to the 26125-24 Comps.

Oh that is his Little Supervisor you see in the picture.
(Yes, he is doing the 2-thumbs-Up)

The Jesel cam followers went in easily, to say the least. In fact, it was one of
our easiest install stories in recent memory. JPC has a tool from Ford that is
required to swap out the cam followers. Other than that, we used the usual
assortment of tools required to remove the valve covers. Installation took
only a few hours, including us stopping JPC technician Adam Humm multiple
times for photographic purposes.

The final results are interesting. We picked up 42 peak rear-wheel
horsepower, a number that doesn't tell the whole story-more on that later.
Burcham made three straight runs within a few horsepower of the new peak
of 705 rwhp and torque sat at a lofty 633 lb-ft-some 33 lb-ft better than the
baseline. Our gains were repeatable, showing the cam followers helped this
engine tremendously.

That is a monster alternator pulley

Your right it is and there is a very good reason for it's size.

It was a necessity to slow the alternator down as it was spinning way to much with the smaller pulley.

It's all good now with the larger pulley. :naughty:

I love your car, Terry. It gets nastier every time you mod it.

Love those Jesels as well. Wish they were't so pricey, but go-fast parts cost money.

As the saying goes: Cheap. Fast. Reliable. <-Pick Two.

I appreciate your kind words. :)

The Jesel's are the Top-of-the-Line for sure.

Their cost is as we all know, expensive.

I think in the case of the Jesel one will actually get what they pay for.

I'm going to be curious to see if there is a different engine sound running the Jesel's.

I have never heard them in an engine so like I said I wonder if you can detect from listening to the engine that it is running, Jesel Billet Cam Followers.

I like that hood. Looks like it actually does something for heat.
The new Seibon Carbon Fiber Hoof is Awesome.
The Raised Center-Section was painted Highland Green and then 2-coats of clear applied to completed hood.
That was done to match the rest of the Bullitt Highland Green color.

Yes those vents are open so heat will definitely flow right out of the engine compartment.

I'll see if I can locate some of the Pics. on it for you.

It's expensive but it is a Bad-Boy Hood for sure.

The pics below were sent to me from Seibon when I was checking out their hoods.

The screens under the Large Rectangle Vents on mine had to be removed.
The Roush Supercharger touched them so they removed the screens.

Below is the LINK to Seibon and the hood I am running.

The latest news on the "tigermachine II" ...

Hello Gang,

Got a call from George this morning or maybe it was this afternoon.
I was not at home so not sure when he called as I was with Cathy getting her eyes tested.

Moving right along ..........

George said he has the Bullitt back together now.
He has started it and actually drove it.

Hear is what he had to say as best as I can tell it in words on a computer.

This is George and what he said,
Terry it's back together and I did drive it.
It is very-very smooth while driving it.
It does not jump around or do anything crazy while I drove it.
It just fires right up and drives so smooth for a race car.
You might find the engine sound interesting.
If you were standing in front of it with the hood propped-open and I started it up.
You will now hear a noticeable more mechanical sound coming from the engine.
I'm not saying it is like real LOUD.
It is just that it now sounds more like a Race-Engine I guess is the way to say it.
I think you are going to really like it. as it is you Dawg !!!
Brent said he is not going to (Release) it this time until He and I both test drive it for a number of miles.
He, (Brent) is also going to do a new Custom-Dyno-Tune on it once we are both comfortable the new Ford Racing Heads valve-train-components are sufficiently broken in.
I did put in all the Break-In Additives and Fresh Oil to Break-it-In.
Once we are done with the break-in-miles I will then change to the Mobil-1 & the Ford-Racing oil filter.
Then Brent wants to do a New Custom-Dyno-Tune .........
Oh, BTW, I am also going to do one more thing while we have it here.
I'll get that info. soon for your records.
I think you now need this addition so I'll be back in touch with that info.
End of conversation with George today

So to those of you following the New "tigermachine II" you know just as much as I do.

This information is current as of today.

I'll Post again once I hear back from George.

tigerhonaker

BTW,
I don't know if Brent has driven it this time yet.
Have not heard from him if he did

Discussion starter · #39 ·
I'm waiting on my updated tune from brenspeed myself :D

So they mentioned smoothness multiple times. Was there a problem before with roughness?
Nope, I think George just wanted to confirm with me that it is very easy to drive with No-Issues at all.

My opinion is most cars with the power mine now has don't actually drive around on the street with no issues.

Most of them are trying to cut-off at stops and hard to keep running.

They are jumping around trying to drive them on the street at slow speeds etc.

Mine can be driven in a normal manner with A/C blowing cold and the Shaker 1000 playing one's favorite XM Satellite Radio Station. :thumb:
