So ive had this hood sitting in my garage for quite some time now. I had planned to finish the cosmetics last year but my tranny went out so I had to spent that money to get a new one. Anyway, ill be taking a road trip up to Carmel via the the 1Hwy next weekend so I decided to change things up a bit. I installed the hood, took off the old cracked decal stripes (biggest pain in the ass of ALL TIME). All thats left to do before next weekend is wrap the roof gloss black and paint the spoiler black.

Anyway I thought you would all want to see this hood as it is fairly rare here on MM. I couldnt really find much info on this particular hood before I purchased it so maybe this thread can help some of you if you are thinking of picking one up. I bought it from Stage3 for around $600 if I remember correctly. It is made by Trufiber and is offered in fiberglass and carbon fiber. It bolts right onto the stock hinges and IS NOT a perfect fit. I sits low near the front head lights. I know pretty much nothing when it comes to body work but the hood comes with a nice smooth glossy finish and id assume it wont take much prep before you paint it. Ill update again this evening after I get the car back from the paint shop. Any questions feel free to ask. Oh and before anyone mentions it I bought and installed a new carbon fiber wiper cowl. I can finally trash the old one!

ive been debating on this hood and the cobra R hood. Was leaning towards the cobra R but seeing yours painted with the blacked out vents makes me rethink my option. So thanks a lot. Lol

how was the prep work on the hood?

Badass! Did you have issues with the fitment as well?

with my hood, the hinges needed to be played around with, however the fitment wasn't terrible. It was worlds better than the saleen wing in terms of fitment.

Prep is like any other aftermarket fiberglass hood. If you want it to look smooth like OEM it will require a lot of bondo and sanding, if not you will have the typical aftermarket fiberglass hood waves. (To be honest, they aren't really noticeable unless you are really examining the paint job)

OP i hope you don't mind that I am chiming in on this as well since you're the only other person that I have seen actually sport this hood. :)

Super underrated hood in my opinion. A lot of people have probably never seen it, but I think it looks better than most of the new edge hoods out there and it has that uniqueness factor.

Yea I think the contrasting vents make all the difference. From what my painter told me, it wasnt bad at all, the whole hood was finished in two days. Here is a little bit better of a picture.

That looks freakin' awesome.

Ryan, you should test it out with dip on your hood.

I have a new saleen 3 piece wing sitting in my garage waiting for prep and paint. Do you mind me asking how much you paid in total to have it put on? Do you think its worth the trouble or should I just go with something else? I really like the steeda wing but im not sure it would look right with a roush stage 3 body kit.
