Car is making a constant squeeking sounds. If I am on the highway going next to a wall, it becomes really apparent. Or when I am next to a car. It seems to be coming from the drivers side.

It becomes more apparent when I am on the throttle and becomes less apparent when I am just coasting. When I brake soft, it's still there. Only if I am hard on the brakes is when it goes away.

Saying that, I am thinking it's the brakes. I just can't figure out what. Sticking caliper? I just put new pads in a few thousand miles back. Can it still squeak if it's a bad rotor? Wheel bearing?

jack it up and check the wheel bearing, see if you got vertical or horizontal movement in it. I replaced mine at 113k they were obviously bad

repped both.

xand, how do you check for bad ball joints?

Lol.... Well, if you push down on the front of the car and it squeaks like a mofo, you need ball joints hahaha. That's how bad mine got before I replaced them

Pretty sure it's coming from the back so no ball joints. I'll check the car tomorrow at work.

Just pushed on the front and I didn't hear anything from both sides.

the only reason im saying wheel bearings because, you said it stops when you brake real hard a and slow down, if its only doing it while moving i would think that would be likely. If it wheel bearing, thank god they are cheap for a set of Timken ones for our cars, unlike the newer fords.

My car has started squeaking too. I notice it only when driving slowly down a dirt road and with the window down. It might be there all the time, but between my exhaust and wind/road noise, I can't hear it. Seems like it's coming from the drivers side as well.

After some digging around, I found some people that traced the problem to loose parking brake cables rubbing against something. This might explain my situation as well as yours, since I did new hoses, calipers, pads, and rotors on my car 3 weeks ago. In my situation, to get to one of the guide pins on the rear calipers, I had to remove the parking brake springs. They are a PITA to reinstall, so I haven't gotten around to doing it. My cables are probably loose, so that explanation makes sense in my case.

Or maybe squeaking grey, 2V Mustangs in SE Michigan is a trend now.

What is the cable rubbing against?

thanks,

i'll look at the wheel bearings and ebrake cable tomorrow. I just can't imagine how that little cable could cause a squeeking sound.
