I have Mac Control arms and I think the bushings are weak. I am taking the car friday to get a diagnoses from Precision tune on the Rear situation. I just had new shocks and struts and ball joints, bushings, ect put on last yr some time I believe it was. I also just called Mac and they said they will no longer be making the control arm bushings so even if I do need bushings I won't have an option of replacing them so I guess I will need new arms??????

Non track car, just a nice weekend driver, weekend street cruiser and play around when I want and feel like it :) Any recommendations on arms to get/arms to stay away from?

I have steeda polyurethane rear upper and lowers. I like them. I had BBK's on my last fox and they were about the exact same thing. BBK's felt stiffer though. Maybe it's because they were brand new. My steedas aren't very stiff but I think they're pretty old and might need changing soon

how much were they

how much were they

I paid like $300 for the BBK's. My car came with the Steeda arms on it but I'd assume they're a little more than bbk. I liked the BBK's though they were so tight and got rid of all the slop in the rear end.

People on this forum are gonna tell you to get maximum motorsports and/or spherical upper bushings. These are better but honestly if you don't launch the car hard on slicks everyday or take hard turns all the time the BBK's will be just fine. But with the urethane bushings on the uppers they are harsh on the torque boxes if you track the car a lot. I daily drive my car and take it to the strip like twice a year so they're just fine for me and definitely improve the handling and overall feel of the car.

Were that uppers and lowers for $300? And you did get the regular BBK stock replacements? I'm in the same boat as you , Non track car and just play with on street sometime but it's a weekend driver and when I get my new truck it will be driven less and less probably. I will have to fit time in to drive it and might drive it to work once a week to make up for weekend loss.

No they're the Gripp series boxed style with urethane bushings. Theyre nice, look very high quality with thick welds. They're on American muscle and I think latemodelresto still has them

Heavy-Duty Adjustable Mustang Rear Lower Control Arms, 1979-1998

I'm running the XD version of these. (just able to handle high HP standing starts)

Can lower the car with factory springs and can adjust the driver lean our cars have.
for the reason of being able to adjust a possible lean i might look into those, the one's in the link. Is an alignment neccessary with putting on ANY uppers and lower rears?

i will know after friday when i take it to get checked out at precision tune. Rear checked to see if bushings on arms are bad or what. I know as of late I hate my car squatting down in rear and therefore front is higher so i want to fix it and fix it right. I put on new struts and shocks last yr, tokico hp blues and also had alot of front end work done with new bushings and ball joints, end links

sorry Chris,

that was actually NCarley's link that had the MM's just the uppers or lowers for 3something I believe it was

No problem. Whichever one you choose I'm sure you'll be happy. I'm just partial to the BBK's since I've had them on my last fox and they were really nice. I'm gonna put a set on my current fox in the near future to replace my old steedas.

Ya. The rear lowers are well into the $300 range. MM's stuff is the most pricey out there. But you buy it once and you're done.
so no Ever Ever having to change bushings out in them?

is adjusting the height easy?

I drove my new edge daily with these on for just shy of 2 years. So not long enough to say NEVER on the bushings. But these are easy rebuild able. I have yet to see a thread or heard of anyone talking about "where to find rebuild kits" or "how to rebuild".

Adjusting the height is very easy. 1/2" ratchet and don't even have to jack up the car.

They are the same on fox and new edge. I have them on my fox also
