Give me some of opinions. I recently finished up a loan with my New Edge V6 to build credit. It's a nice little car but after 2 years I need a v8. should i save up 2k for a down payment on a new edge GT? Im iffy because those GTs are a bit outdated and i already drive a new edge v6. Im not going '94-98 either. Those models were beyond ugly IMO no offense

And I sure as hell dont have the credit nor money for a 2011 5.0? What do you guys think? I dont like the '05-'10 as well because theyre bulky but produce little to no power only at 300hp. Might as well go lighter

What do you think guys? Keep my v6 for 2-3 more years and then buy a 5.0 or just buy a new edge V8 now?

^Agreed. Foxes are inexpensive and light.

I'd love to build one, but I'm not done with my current car.

Since your V6 is paid off, take the money you would have been using for your payment and stick it in a savings account every month. Watch it build. Use that as a down payment on a newer car (11+) or for a motor swap.

I'd just set a goal (2 or 3 years) and be patient. If you put aside a little bit of money each month, then it'll be easy to get a 2011 GT by then. Think about it: over 3 years, you could put aside $200/month and have $7200 by the time you're done. That would also give the car time to lower in price AND you would have smaller payments from there on out. Any variation of that and it's feasible. Just be patient; I completely understand your dissatisfaction with the v6 (I have one), but it'll be worth it in the end.

I agree

If you're saying the 05-10 GT's produce little power at 300hp, then do not get a NE at only 260hp. The weight difference between the NE and 05 is not enough to make up for the hp difference. I also don't see the point in getting a loan to change from a v6 NE to a v8 NE. I would save money and get something different in the future.

You have a new edge V6 but think a 3V doesn't make much power, lol. They walk over 2Vs all day.

Good advice! And while you are waiting pull a windstar swap. Cheap way to make the car more fun to drive in the meantime.

Phaze beat a Coyote in his 2V, does that make all 2Vs faster than 5.0s, lol. The sad thing is, we have guys with just a tune, drag radials, x pipe, and good driving running high 12s. No boost needed lol.

3V is faster and not arguable, mod for mod, just as Coyote is faster.

the trick with financing a new edge will be the age of it and loan-to-value with it. alot of banks will turn you down based on that alone. you will have to find one that is right with the book value and dealers are always pricing their stuff too high (like 120%, so alot of times you need to walk in with a 2-3K down payment)
with that said, i financed my Mach 1 in january of 2012. i'm about ready to pay it off within the next 2 months. my payments were 160.22/month on it and that was on a 48 month loan.

If it counts for anything, I still have yet to ever be walked all over by any 3v mustang.
Would I have ever beat one stock for stock? I'd, however, agree with you and say not likely.

If it were me, I'd save a bit and look into 99/01 Cobras or 03/04 Mach 1s.

My car had a book value of $9400. I financed it through my credit union for $7K and paid it off 3 months later.

Even sadder is that there are guys like Marcs99 with n/a, no cams, 2Vs that are running 12.6s lol.
