I live for today... I ain't gonna **** it up by thinking about what may or may not be a reality in the future... kinda irresponsible=guilty as charged

Err... you have no idea what the major car companies are bringing to production in the next two years do you?

Everyone looks at the 1970's and says "Wow, gas prices rose a lot", but no one comments how much the resale value on the old cars fell through the floor when the new fuel efficient models came out. People dropped them like they were diseased, when they were in the market for a new car, they couldn't afford not to buy a fuel efficient car. Too bad they coul only make them fuel efficient by killing performance.

This time though there are already twin turbo diesels that get 35-45 mpg and do 0-60 in 6 seconds. They've been out for a year or two now in Europe and every manufacturer will have some form of turbo diesel out in the US by this time next year. Electric diesel hybrids WILL be out within two years and they will start at 50-75 mpgs.

There is so much technology being generated right now for production it's mind boggling.

When the internal combustion engine was developed people went "wow! what's it good for?" When Texaco discovered oil in North America it suddenly made the engine useful and people stopped using whale blubber for heating oil and lighting. We won't be using oil in 50 years. Maybe 3rd world countries will, but it won't even matter.

For sure. When we let all these illegals in the U.S. and f*** up our country we can go down there and build a new one. But then they will just want to come back, claim that we stole it from them and mess that up too. There is no winning. :)

How do you guys know what gas will cost in 2012?

Do any of you know what the stock price of exxon will be in a month or six months? hell i could make a million with this market knowledge


Gas isnt 4.23 in so cal my freind. gas is about 1.50 there and you are paying 2.70 in tax on every gallon. check that out. Freaking bullshit and noone seems to know its our own goverement stickin us.

Id rather kick out our tax and spend goverment then drive a mustang GT with a turbo 6 in it

+1 I work on the trading floor at the new york mercantile exchange...crude is trading $100+ a barrel more so because of all the big shot brokers and funds than any other reasons. I was told by a broker today that most of the hedge funds and brokers had short positions and were now buying back which causes a dramatic rise in price

+1 I already knew that. It is bullshit and I think our economy would be a hell of alot better off if they got rid of that tax. I know I would be able to spend more money on other dstuff if I didnt have to pay so much at the pump. My g-ma owns over a million dollars worth of chevron stock. Her only income is the dividends she gets. Which isnt hella bad.

Its because of our weak dollar and the govt is retarded. If they were smart they would get rid of the taxes on the gas for awile. 5.40 right now is outrageous and totally uneccesary. WE have enough oil to last another 300 years and thats counting the rate of population growth and demand. Its all about politics. We have a ton of freaking oil in Alaska we could tap into.

There is a ton of oil in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico but all the ****ing enviironmental lobyists are more worried about ****ing turtles and fish while people are oing under due to the cost of gas.

And if you want good fuel economy with existing technology, diesel hybrids are where it's at.

They are probable worried about some stupid lizard that doesnt do anything for anyone. Lol. How do these freaking environmentalists have so much power. When did what they say actually get listened too. :eek:
