Got the engine jacked up and the drivers side header on, tomarrow is the passenger side and putting the engine down. Have yet to blow anything, but fear not, there's still hope! The only thing is I only have the front jacked up and the engine mount won't go back in the stud, so that's gonna be pain in the ass

I still have my pacesetters sitting in my garage that Ill probably never get around to install.

Oh and I had the same problem when I installed the billet motor mounts. Just drop the engine on the mounts and use a screwdriver to line the holes back up

I don't quite get what you mean about the screwdriver part, care to elaborate?

Waiting for the "I blew up my car and half the county is on fire" post. :shiftyeyes

Jk Jk it sounds like you might have it down this time. Unless a rat makes a home out of your exhaust port while you sleep. :lol

I took a flathead screwdriver, put it in the hole on the mount bracket and "pulled the motor". In other words, I dropped the motor on the mount. The mount and bracket holes didnt line up exactly so i put a screwdriver in the hole the bolt goes into and wedged it over. Do u have stock mounts? Maybe stock is different

Use a pry bar. Sometimes it's something you just have to make happen. Have a buddy off to the side operating the jack.

Psh, the WHOLE County will BURN, muahahahah!
No worries though, I bagged it already haha I'm fully prepared for those ****ers

Watch out for Towelie too... I haven't heard from him yet so he might have flown to Tx just to stick rocks everywhere. so make sure to clean those out before continuing. :lol

Can't wait to hear it though! what's the rest of the setup? Keeping the prochamers and Roush?

Yup, all that! Might throw some stringers or some other muffler on in the future though

Do you still have the motor mounts attached to the engine?

When I did mine I put the mounts over the studs and threaded the nut on about halfway, then slowly lowered the engine down until it was meeting up with the mounts more or less correctly....then put all the bolts back into the block. That was the easiest way that I could see.

just want to make sure, these header bolts go to 18 ft-lbs? im obviously sketched out about over-tightening lol 18 seems like a lot though. ive got the ford motorsport svo locking header bolts

nah, one of ems off and the other one is still attached, which was a pain in the ass to get that mount off

Just snug them up you won't get a torque wrench on most.
i dont do good with just 'snugging them up', i am the bolt destroyer lol i can get it around a lot of them though

Don't know what headers you have but I know on mine with the JBA's, the passenger side mount was very difficult to get back in due to the proximity of one of the primaries to where the mount had to go in.

Also, I tightened the bolts until they felt very snug, with a box wrench. I figured that was good enough and probably not over-tightened.

Run through a couple of heat cycles, let engine cool and tighten the bolts a 2nd time and they should stay put

ill just do like... 12 ft lbs and then do a heat cycle

Yeah, I don't think you'll get a torque wrench to fit on most of the bolts. I use a short box end wrench and crank them fairly tight then do the heat cycle or 2 and do again. Never had one come loose.

these spring clips are a real pain in the ass to put in. Got all drivers side bolts fastened and 2 retainers in, slowly but surely lol theres one bolt in particular that ill probly spend an hour trying to get the retainer on lol
