just trying to figure out how much labor time it should take to swap out to an 8 rib setup. not sure i want to take the time to do it myself. how much to shops normally charge?

The a/c pulley can be tricky but thats the only one. Some have ruined their a/c's from the swap. The others arent that hard. shouldnt take but a couple hours. maybe 3 if you are slow. Its the proper spacing of the blower that will take a lil longer.

Is your 8 rib from scratch or a kit?

its a complete kit. if it takes a normal person 3 hours it will take me 4.5 im sure. my tools suck ass! so its reasonable to expect an experienced mechanic to take about 2 hours?

with the blower on? Plan for a day at least. It took me 2hrs to remove a ysi kit and then prob an hr or so to remove all the other pulleys.

To get the alt you need an impact, or a way to hold the pulley. The a/c pulley you need snap ring pliers. Other wise its a 8mm bolt and you wiggle the pulley off. W/P easy. Power steering, need a ford installer/removal tool, you can rent those at a parts store.

Idlers/tensioners are easy. Crank you need to break the crank bolt lose, its in there tight and you need a puller to remove it, again you can rent it at a parts store.

I was speaking of only changing the Balancer, PS, alt, and a/c. People that put their own kits together usually leave the water pump and smooth idlers. I left my smooth pulleys on as there was plenty room for an 8 rib belt to ride. Havent had any issues.

hows that YSI workin out for you?

its working out good so far just not spinning it hard enough yet. only running 13# so i just bought the pulleys and should be running closer to 18# with meth. cant wait to see what happens. BTW the ysi is loud as hell. I love it

Can you give me a little more detail on what motor, heads, intake your running your YSI on? Also what size pulley are you running as well?

im running 7.5 crank 15% overdrive pulley with a r/r 8 rib 2.7 blower pulley. 5.1 stroker, stock ported heads, stage 2.5 blower cam, 9.2 compression. stock intake manifold with 75mm t/b and plenum will be running meth very soon. my tuner only recommends 16 psi on piss 91 octane.

With a 15% overdrive and 2.7" sc pulley it should be well over 20psi. I run an 18% crank and a 3" SC pulley, 9.0cr, mild blower cams, with ported heads, and see a little of 20psi from the T-trim.

The 18% is 8".

im also stroked. i love some boost numbers through that
Do you have any dyno number? Just trying to get an ideal on what numbers my build gonna put down. Big Bore 5.0 stroked 323ci 9.6 cr, tfs heads, stage 3 cams, YSI, foxlake P51 intake. I currenly have a 2.95 pulley. Also FMIC as well.
