well i did get pulled over but with just a warning i guess. the cop told me i NEED mudflaps because my tires are too wide and in the rain the water sprays through too much traffic is this a actual ticket worthy thing? lol and the weird thing is a month ago i was wanting to buy em just not the time to just put in 100 in mudflaps lol.

you have a picture of how much they stick out? and I wouldnt do it, they belong on trucks and subies, they would look ridiculous on a mustang IMO

I know that new car manufactureres are required to keep the tire in the fenderwell and allow for accomodations for things like snow chains, but I have no idea if it's required when you mod.

i know here in PA you've got some work to do ONLY if your tires stick out past the fenders...personally if it was just a warning and no fix-it ticket i wouldnt worry about it unless the rare chance it would happen again.

EDIT:: now after seeing your pictures, i have no idea WTF the problem is...maybe the cop was just looking for something to do ??

i once got a fix-it ticket for tint on my old 04 Ranger. i peeled the tint off (20%) took the truck up to the police station to get the ticket signed then re-did my windows that same afternoon in 35%. it was a bit lighter but i never had problems with the police again. its a luck of the draw thing/depends on the officers mood that day.

That's a bullshit ticket. The cop was probably just using that as an excuse to see if you were up to some bad ****. Your tires don't go past the fender at all. **** the pOlice, I said ****, **** da pOlice!!!

That sounds like BS. He probably was just having a bad day. Brush it off and move on -there are far worse things on the road to worry about than having mudflaps to block the water spraying up on to the cars behind you. <- that is what windshield wipers are for :lmao

Was the window tint illegal both times? If yes then it's on you. I don't get mad at cops when I break the law and they catch me, it is kinda their job and all. Now mudflaps on a mustang is pretty laughtastic, I'd research that one if I were you to be better prepared when he decides to get you again.

i say it's complete BS my tires stick out of my fenders in both my Mustang and Ranger and neither one has mudflaps, and no body ever says anything to me,but you do live in Cali and they have some dumb laws

Dont worry about it. Just dont do anything stupid and get caught. Worse case its a fix it ticket. I've literally made mudflaps out of tie wrapes and conveyor belt and zip tied them onto my silverado (12 lift kit on 37s). The CHP office looked at me like I was a joke lmao but they signed it off. The zip ties broke before I got home and the conveyor belt flew off on the freeway.... I think its a great mod and it fixes itself hahaha

Someone was bored... And just be prepared for when he does pull you over again. Do your homework and look up the specific law. Be able to clearly articulate that it applies for tires that stick outside of the fender and that yours don't. Simple as that. If yours are illegal, then so is every other car on the road. Continually pulling you over for that IS targeting, and complaint worthy. Although it may not do anything negative to him, he might get the message to chill the **** out and leave you alone, especially if you aren't doing anything wrong
