Converting my H to an X pipe

I've seen people weld up chambered boxes similar to a Mac Pro chamber in place of h pipes, but I don't know anyone whose used an existing h pipe to cut/weld an X in. I'm sure you could get a crossover online, brand won't matter as much as material, aluminum or stainless are much lighter, but less durable. Cast pipes are heavy but you won't have to worry about scrapes if you're lowered.

Personally I'm not a big fan of my X pipe. The PO put on BBK LTs with a BBK O/R X pipe and Flowmaster 40s, and the X with the chambered mufflers gives it a weird gargling sound.

On my sixxer I have a custom H pipe with borla chambered mufflers and that has a solid exhaust note and less random popping/gurgling. With glass packs though, the X pipe is super aggressive sounding, and a buddy of mine with a similar setup spits fire with high flow borla stingers and no cats on his 04.

Have you checked the x pipe sections on summit? I know they have x pipe pieces and build your own x pipe kits.

Thanks guys and thanks for this link. Since I live in Florida, shipping for this is $52 lol

I was planning on going longtubes and was thinking of a cheap route to get an X pipe but I may keep what I have for now.

Off road H with Super 44 mufflers is getting kind of boring sounding

If youre looking to swap out the flowmasters for something else and is cheap check out m80s. I have them on both my 07 and my 02 and get compliments all the time. Everyone and their mom have flowmasters on their mustang. Personally I like the sound of an off road x and og 40s but Im glad I swapped to m80s. They sound different, a good different. And theyre not always loud like flowmasters, theyre pretty quiet at idle but get pretty damn loud when stepping on it lol.
