Ok so i havnt taken my door panel off but my window is sloppy as ****. it dont go up or down straight and it binds and i have to fight with it to go up or down half the time. My door rattles when i close it. how does the window actuator work? is it ****ed or just a bolt or nut came out?

mine did that too the window is just off track.
roll it up halfway and pull it till it is straight. Hold on to it and have someone press the roll down button and physically guide it. That should put it back on track

it sounds like metal on metal. i think the actuator is ****ed. why would the window just come off track its like the back part of it falls into the door and the front comes up crooked and binds towards the interior.

yeah thats off track it just slips out of a guide it can happen if you roll it down or up while driving and hit a bump. the regulator could be bad but it wouldnt be crooked

I know the actuator isnt glued on, but I cant remember how it looks. Just pull your panel off and check it out dont take long lol

maybe the bracket broke? see if there is a clunk of metal hanging out inside the door when you take the panel off. this happened to me a while back...

so i took the door apart. i found a chunk of plastic at the bottom. dunno what its to.

also the rear part of the window was unglued from its part of the actuator bracket. i re glued it on with hot glue. but the front part of the window is still binding inwards and jamming.

from what i can tell its one of three things or a combination of them. the rivets on the assembly are sloppy allowing the assembly to twist when the motor fires up. the weather striping on the outside bottom of the window was kinked about half way through on the inside of the door and had a lump that was leaning on the window as it went up and down. cant see it till u take the panel off. causing it to bind. or 3 the assembly has twisted and bent some where causing it to twist when the window is put up.

Im going to get new weather striping some time next week see if that helps or fixes it.

my driver side window just came off track the other day. second time its done it and its pretty embarrassing when you have to go through a drive through and open your door and get out to pay and get your food. it also sucks when you HAVE to travel back to school and the easiest way to go is to take the turnpike (toll road) and have to pay tolls but have to open your door to pay and get your ticket

Im having this same problem we took it apart me and some guys that work as mechanics. we thought just one of the tracks fell off then we realized someone glued the window to one of the parts with superglue and thats what cam eoff to start the whole thing and now debating to either help fix it with the guy and see what we can do or just ay for a whole newassembley of sorts or just hope that the ford dealers or something like that actually will be able to put it back right

I have the same experience at times with the rattling, although the window travels fine, the stops have broken off on BOTH sides, and they go up too far. $400 EACH to get them fixed because you have to get the entire window piece. I'd rather live with having to stop pushing the 'up' button at a specific point...

hey juggalo mine does the exact same thing, a metal piece somehwhere around the regulator scissor part broke off, thats what my rattling is but the window goes up and down fine, on the passenger side however everything is fine but the window use to get jammed just like yours and it was my regulator bent, glasspro just bent it back a little and it goes up just fine but at an awkward angle, it straigtens out at the top.
