I know I don't post here that much. I spend most of my time on a ZX-10R forum bc ever since I got into bikes my mustang has pretty much taking a backseat to my attention and money for mods. But, I have pretty much completed my bike and have decided to get some things done to my mustang before I leave for the Army in September.
I have had this car since October of 2001. I am the original owner and it has been a great car. 120,000 miles later I have decided it is time to finish what I started before the motorcycle obsession started. Now I realize that my car is a V6... that means it is slow. Sorry guys, once you have been on something like a ZX10 just about any car feels a lil slow, but anyway slow or not I'm going to have my car looking good before I leave for Benning (I get it back after BCT while I'm in OCS).
This is what she's already got:
17'' Bullitt rims
Dual exhaust
MAC CAI
99-01 Cobra hood (originally had the 01 v6 hood)
GT side scoops
shorty antenna
Mach I front grill delete
3rd brake light tint
Bullitt fuel door
Prob missing some other stuff. Did most of these mods back when I was in college.
Tonight I ordered:
H&R springs and CC plates to get the alignment right.

I'm thinking to finish her off I might also get:
Mach I chin spoiler (waiting on this to see how low she is with the new springs before this)
And I really want to get a GT rear bumper cover so my exhaust looks flush. I originally had chrome tips out the back on the V6 bumper but speed bumps destroyed those so i just had them cut off and some turn downs welded on. If I dont go with the GT bumper cover I might just have it dumped at the mufflers to hide the exhaust and keep a small high from the exhaust fumes (jk).
Last mod I really want to do is a set of deep dish bullitt rims (17x10.5) for the rear. I'll post up some pics of my beloved mustang when i get the chance. Def. going to take some before and after pics with the springs.

Performance wise I am doing nothing. I've gotten to the point now that if I want to go fast I'll get on the bike. 0-60 in < 3 seconds... it's hard to beat that feeling. And I really have changed my driving habits with that car. Now that she is on 120K I tend to take it a lil easier than I did back in my HS/college days. I really want that car to make it to 200K so I've really babied her the last few years.
Yeah i've thought about the cost in the GT bumper vs dumps and thanks for the heads up on the vibrations with the dumps. I know I want the GT bumper with chrome tips coming out back but I'm finding it hard to throw about $400 into technically less bumper (cutouts) than I have now. I just don't know. I only have a month til I leave so I'm gonna try and get as much done as I can bc I know once I grad from BCT and start OCS there will be no time for her. Plus I'm seriously considering a 2010 GT in the near future.

Anybody else out there have any input with these H&R springs?? How do they ride? Any other mods to go along with it?? American Muscle reviews were 5 stars so I'm guessing they are pretty good. Also, any input with the Mach I chin spoiler on lowered stangs? Like I said, I'm going to wait to see how low the front is before putting the chin spoiler on bc I don't wanna rip my front bumper off on parking curbs.

Thanks for everybody's input and feedback. Feedback is what makes forums so great. I learned a lot about my bike by talking with ppl on forums.

For the guy going to FLW, what's your MOS? Godspeed bro!

Thanks! I hope to accomplish it before I leave.
I don't have any pics of my car on my computer but I have some pics of my bike on here so I thought I would atleast share those and I should be able to get some pics of my car tomorrow when I get back from riding my bike. This pic was taking @ Lake Lure, NC.

i have the chin spoiler already and have seen plenty pics of others that are lowered. it shouldn't be a problem with the spoiler. just be careful when parking, plus the plastic is kinda soft so it wont just snap off if you do scrape a little. i suggest some shocks / struts to go with your springs though, and maybe a t-lok and some gears just to give her a beeter feel and some acceleration. nice car and looks great for her age.

yeah ive got the h&r springs, they are great, just a little low for high speed bumps but the only speed bumps i have problems with are at my school, which is an all boy high school with speed bumps up to your knees (jk) to keep us slowed down, they ride great, feel really tight on the street and just generally make the car feel sportier- a 10 out of 10 if i had to rate it, just the mach 1 chin spoiler might make things a bit too low

I hear good things about the H&R's, and C/C plates are a good idea. I also recommend getting new shocks/struts since you're gonna be working around them anyway. If you've got over 120k and haven't replaced them recently, you might as well, the stockers won't last long after lowering.

Also the chin spoiler looks great, I think it's the perfect finishing touch. Check out the pics of my car in my garage to see what it looks like with a 1.5" drop (Eibach Prokit springs).

Springs and CC plates will be in tomorrow. If they come in early enough I'm gonna try and have them installed tom. Might have to wait til Thursday.

just a tip on the front strut nuts, theyre nearly impossible to get off without an impact wrench. if you have one, great but if you dont I used a crowbar and an old wrench with a 6 foot cheater bar from a hammock frame- just dont be afraid to gnaw up the nut as youre getting it off because they sell nearly identical ones at autozone for like 80 cents apiece, fortunately the rear strut nuts just need some vise grips- pm me if you have any questions
